Explorer Everest Strap - Thoughts on Black vs Grey Color?
Hi guys,
I was debating on getting an Everest strap for the Explorer I and wanted to see if anyone had thoughts about the color black vs grey. I attached pictures from the website and also looked at pictures of both online, but have been conflicted on which goes better with the watch. Black seems more versatile, but I'm not sure if it's "boring" because the watch itself has a black face and the design is quite simple. I like the color grey on the watch as well, but I'm not sure if it'll get dirty over time, or if black is a better fit overall. Any thoughts?? |

I like the black better. I have rubber straps of both colors, and in person, I think the black simply looks better, regardless of the color of the dial.

Black. Typically (not a law however), straps look the best when picking up some small or large part of the watch dial, bezel, etc.. If there were some gray sprinkled on your watch then maybe, as it is black will likely elicit a more cohesive look.
That said, it's your watch and your style - so do what you like. I've seen plenty of watch/strap combinations that I personally find distasteful yet others seem to like...so go for what YOU like! I've also bought plenty of various straps thinking they'd look good only to find out I hated them. |

I've never been a fan of the coloured bands, definitely go with black!

I've always preferred the grey strap for the Explorer.

I bought an Everest grey rubber strap a couple years ago, thinking guy would be a replacement for the ubiquitous grey nato. But I put it on once and never again. It was the exact same shade of grey as cheap plastic electronics from the 80s. Absolutely aweful.
Now this was the “mk1” grey when Everest first offered it, and I they may have changed it a bit since. |
