Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V - Black or Silver

This watch was never on my radar but recently I can’t stop thinking about it. The AD has stopped taking deposit for the blue dial. Between the black and the silver, which dial would you choose? Anyone have some photos for comparison? Thanks

If you want the blue, get it; the world is your limit.

Between the blackout and gray ? Black. In less you have to many blacks then gray.

Great taste! You can't go wrong either way. Me personally, I would take the black dial. VC lacquer dials are gorgeous inky wet black. I also like the perfect matching of the rubber and alligator straps in black.

The silver works best for me. More legible and the sunburst dial is more beautiful,imho.20210311_195052.jpg

I would take the black dial as it provides more contrast to the steel case.

I prefer the silver. So many black watches in the collection.

I had the same dilemma and went with the black after seeing it in the wild. It was a toss up between black and blue for me, but admittedly the blue dial does pop more.

Blue at the moment you'll have to pay grey prices for as you may know switched to a boutique exclusive, and the boutiques halted taking deposits on those until further notice.

Not sure how long the wait now will be after deposit but I assume some of that depends on your local AD.

Black

Both are nice, but I would choose black. I currently own the black dial (had the blue previously which is now with my Dad).

I own black and love it. Haven't seen the silver dial in person but it looks sweet in photos. Can't go wrong, but I would choose black again if given the chance.

I bought mine in Dec 2019. Most ADs were just out of inventory although all colors were available even the recently discontinued brown. Black was my choice from the start.

If you can get your hands on the Zurich edition, that would be my choice. Nice silver with a touch of blue dial.

I have not seen silver in person but have seen the black and it is stunning. It is such a sublime, really deep inky black color on the 3 hander.

All my watches are either black or white dial, so I’m really looking for that stunning blue dial. The SA put me on the waiting list to leave a deposit for the blue dial. She has no idea if and when it will reopen.

Anyone have the dual time? How does it wear compared to the 4500V?

I was in the same situation, missed out on the blue so I went with the black instead. No regrets. Black is classy and timeless.

Saw the silver and fell in love with the sunray finish on the dial and the smoked gray hands and indicies. Didn't get a nice enough discount offered (at the time) so i passed.

Then, I purchased the black with a really solid discount and really loved it for about a month then sold it.

Now I own the silver and couldn't be happier. Shouldv'e just bought it initially...

Lesson = go with your gut. Who cares what others say.

When I saw it on the wrist, black left a better impression on me, it was very dark and had some depth, but you can't go wrong.

Both are great. I went with silver as I had been hunting for a white 5711 and was let down with the discontinuation. The black is a deep lacquer, I think.

One factor to consider is how big your wrist is, if it’s big, go silver as it looks bigger. If you have a small wrist, get the black since it will look smaller.

For me, the blackened hands and markers that are unique to the silver make it way more legible.
Plus I already have plenty of black watches.

Black if it’s for me between the 2 colors.

I was lucky enough to try the Zurich edition before the launch. It’s different but it was not my taste. It’s only limited to 38 pieces

Black! I’m currently on the wait list for one and I can wait to get my hands on it! Good luck, either one should be good!

If you can't have the blue one, then you have to turn to the black version.
