I wouldn't do it unless it's a 0% offer given by the AD

my collection represents a very small % of my total assets - to buy what is a luxury item, on finance, suggests you are trying to project wealth downwards (at the expense of your own)

think carefully about your priorities

There is nothing wrong with taking Interest Free from the AD if the monthlies are comfortable.

Unfortunately UK AD's stopped offering IFC some time ago as the watches sell themselves so there is no need to incentivise.

I never understand this question. There are a million credit cards offering 0% if it’s that important to you or you have a grail you need to finance.

Or just save.

Are you sure you want to do that

At the moment we are all in very uncertain times, caused mainly buy some “Little” problem called Covid.

I personally am long retired so loosing a job etc is no longer any form of worry to me but I think prudence may be in order for people lucky to be in employment still especially those who can contemplate purchasing nice and expensive watches.

There are a host of places where you can get 0% interest loans but I always thing it’s far better to save for a while and then just do an outright purchase. The feeling of owning totally an object is much nicer than the one of owing money.

Don’t do it.
You don’t need a watch, use your phone to check the time.
Or ask someone for the time.
But don’t borrow money for it. It’s just not worth being in debt fir that reason.

That’s very true Matt.

Now I’m the first to say it wouldn’t be something I’d entertain, but that’s not the question.

If the OP has decided he wants to finance a Rolex, it’s hard to argue it’s unwise vs. say a car that depreciates 30% out of the gate

+1

OP seems decided to finance the purchase, not asking opinions about it. Interest free card would be the way to go

Guys....op did not ask for holier than though opinions on financing......op asked if anyone knew a method..... that’s all. So save the hypocrisy and go make a payment on your house, or worse yet depreciating car, boat, furniture, etc. Honestly, at this moment it makes more sense to finance a Rolex than just about anything else

Well for the past few years, they have been.....money in, more money out, depending on model of course. People like to act like nothing but stocks and re can be true investments, and over the long term maybe it’s true. BUT in the short term at least, a blue chip watch is. If op was financing a boat, pool, couch, THEN I’d be like “nope”. But if you didn’t have the cash and your AD called with an ss daytona at retail, you’d be an idiot not to take those gains.

Every time this question comes up, similar point is made. People finance cars all the time. Valid point.

Even though I would never consider financing a watch, the above post actually makes sense.

Jesus guys. I don't finance luxury goods either, but the way this guy chooses to use his money or finance his purchases is none of your business.
