Green outside paper box should not be yellow inside felt lining.
All my newer yellow inside flap is all the way up the top lid, not half way. Old left, new right. I took this end of 2014. |

That inside material doesn't look like any Rolex box I have ever seen and I can't imagine Rolex would use such a sloppy crown and lettering, such terrible stitching, or allow loose threads to just poke around. While the contractor who makes these likely varies, I cannot imagine that is an authentic Rolex box.

Fake, and a terrible one at that. You can see screw heads poking out on the base under the green material. Rolex uses joiners, not fasteners in the construction of the boxes.

From your pic, you have inner yellowish felt. The newer type box colour. If that is the case, the flap inside tilts out and should be all the way up. Also green ROLEX lettering. If you have the greenish felt inside, the flap is half way up and fixed. Older style box. Your font and crown is also different from my old greenish box on the left. My pic was taken end of 2014 around the time of transition, I think. I have a few more boxes before and after the transition and they are all consistent. The other thing is the outer cardboard box. Yours is older greenish in colour. I could be wrong on this because I did not take all my older boxes out to check. The one in my pic does not have the fold out side. Only the newer yellowish cardboard box did that. However, my newer box on the right is WG BLRO, maybe the bigger boxes do that, not smaller boxes. What watch is your box for? |

Doesn’t look like it. Give it a sniff, should be a good indicator of cheap material and plastics or genuine rolex
