White Gold 41 Submariner or Rose Gold Day-Date 40

If you guys had to pick one watch which one would you buy the new White Gold Submariner 41 blue with blue Ceramic bezel and black dial or the Rose Gold Day-Date 40 with Chocolate Roman Dial. Pictures attached for reference. Thank you in advance.

Those are two very different watches. I’m more of a sub guy. The real question is which would you choose.

WG sub as I am not a fan of full rose gold watches.

Not a chocolate dial fan. Out of these two, I’d choose the sub.

But would choose the new eisenkiesel dial over sub. Or white gold meteorite.

Both amazing watches, get the Sub. It’s crazy in person.

That WG sub 41 is a perfectly balanced watch. Get it.

I’d get the blue sub. It’s gorgeous and there’s nothing quite like it for comparison.

Two very different styles watches. Personally, I prefer Professionals, so the white gold Submariner would be my pick.

I have the day date but you could split the difference and get the yellow gold sub

At the end of the day which one do you think will get the wrist time it deserves. The Daydate is a bit finicky since you can't adjust the bracelet at all. That may make the comfort a bit tricky. The Sub is definitely stealth wealth and a great all day wearer.

Personally, since you asked. Instead of spending a crazy amount for a wg Sub that only has a different color bezel then a ss Sub or a rose gold Daydate that you may have wearing comfort issues with. I would kick in the extra and get the rose gold Skydweller in bracelet. It may be to big for your liking or out of the price range. But st least you are getting the rose gold your asking about, the combo of sport and dressy and a adjustable bracelet.

Good luck.

For this comparison, I’d go DD no question. If it were the previous all blue Smurf, it would be a much more difficult decision, but I’d probably go Smurf.

Sub any day. The DD is starting to look outdated to me no pun intended. Plus unless you have an outstanding AD relationship, if you are lucky enough to get the sub you will.

Apple, oranges. Oranges, apples.

Get the one YOU like the most.

If for some reason my opinion matters, I'd say neither. The current WG sub pales in comparison to the previous version and feels way less special to me now (own the 116619 and have seen the 126619). And the combo of rose gold and brown just doesn't suit my tastes at all.

Don't get me wrong. Both great watches for someone else, and sure you'll enjoy either.

Good luck.

Tough choice but you can’t go wrong either way. DD is on the dressier side and the Sub more casual. Depends what you are looking for. I’d go for the Sub because it’s more low key and it has the glide lock for that perfect fit.

I prefer white gold to rose or yellow gold so my choices would be
1-white gold sub
2-white gold DD
if I wore a suit to work, a white gold DD, otherwise white gold Sub
I have a white gold Yachtmaster 42 on Oysterflex which I suggest you may want to add to your list for consideration.

between those two, i might go with the sub. it’s more understated and you could wear it everyday. the DD you can obviously wear daily; however, it will carry a little more flash given that it’s rose gold.

Def the DD if PM.

I wouldn’t do the sub in PM, it’s meant to be a tool watch; SS is the best choice for that one.

DD’s purpose is PM.

In this comparison, I have to say DD wins for me. If it were being compared to the 116619, then that wg sub for sure. But I'm definitely biased. ;)
