Yeah those are not watches that compete with each other. One is a white gold sports rolex that has a market value in the 60's, the other is a Patek perpertual calendar chronograph in rose gold that has a market value in the 130's. Should you sell the GMT to fund the PP? Go with the one that would get the most wrist-time. And if you bought the GMT at retail you are already up a bit... if you buy the PP at retail you will likely lose a bit. I'm not a dress watch guy so i wouldnt wear the PP much... let alone something of that value (I'm happy in the under 50k club).

hmm, if you can find someone to give you that patek for the gmt, then obviously yes. but i think 5270 is about 2X the value of the GMT, so if you're asking if you should use the proceeds from selling the GMT to fund maybe half of the patek, then only you can answer that one.

You have to trade 3 GMT WG Pepsi Meteorite dial for one 5270/R.

Just keep your GMT and buy a new PP 5270/R.

Yeah, there is something to be said for knowing where your comfort level lies, both in the finances...and wear of the watch.

GMT II Meteorite

Patek is the one brand I just can't get behind. Nothing of interest for me and the 5711 looks like its wearing headphones.

The rose gold watch in question is a big no for me. Looks like a ladies bracelet.

It's weird being the same age as old people.

Asking the wrong forum section my friend.

I would assume though people with 5270s would also have PM Rolex pieces as beaters

I know I am supposed to prefer that Patek because of it's grand complication, but I feel like I would enjoy wearing the GMT meteorite more.....and in the end, I think that is what matters most.

I'd take a Patek over a Rolex any day of the week. One is Toyota, the other is Mercedes.
