Tudor Royal Owner's Group (TROG)

It's pretty lonely being one of the few owners here on the forum!!!! Hopefully there are some more of these around!!!

Mine's the 41 (BL4D, Blue Diamond Dial Day Date) and there a lot of different sizes!!!

This is one of my favorite watches. It wears great and looks amazing on the wrist. The blue dial is a real beauty. For the price I paid at the AD this timepiece was a steal. IMG_0694.jpg

I couldn't agree more on the value of this watch!!! I love the Roman dial, btw. I was so close to getting one but the other worked out and stands as something totally unique in my collection. I never ever liked diamonds and and stainless but these small chips just work great!!! I'm so happy to see I'm not alone in owning this amazing watch. It is so Day Date like; it's almost hard to believe it isn't one!!

I was looking for this group and forgot I started it quite a while ago. Any more owners care to pipe in? I figured it would be a small group but not quite so small.

Not quartz but automatics. The Day Date is closest to the rare Rolex 1831 Day Dates of which there were very few made. They took the Rolex Oyster Quartz case and coupled them with a Day Date automatic movement. Only a few of them made and for the Shah of Iran.

There's a great MOP diamond dial w/diamond bezel 28mm ladies piece for only $3500 or so. If my wife didn't already have a DJ, I'd jump on this!

I agree. Love to see a TT model. I believe that the name comes from the AP Royal Oak.

Not likely. Tudor has been using the Royal name on its dials since at least the 1950s.

I wonder why they don't use it on the current dial. That's a lot of empty space of the lower half.

Probably right; now it's got some tied in styling cues like the integrated bracelet. I don't believe in these coincidences. I do believe in plausible deniability however.

I could never grasp why this piece didn't pick up more with the recent trend in integrated bracelet watches. Only part I'm really not a huge fan of is the bezel - somewhere between the Rolex fluted and engine turned. Smooth would have been ideal. Still nice overall looking watch, though.

It was very slow getting into ADs in the US. I had one on order for half a year before I found another source. Certainly a slow roll out. I even understood it wasn't going to go to the US market but that could just be BS.

What's the lug length? I've tried both 41mm and 38mm and couldn't make my mind up. One felt a bit big with a rather empty dial, the other a tad too small. That said I'm probably going to wind up with one. There really cool. What's your wrist size?

Fiancé surprised me with one of these. Very nice quality for the money. At first it took a lot of staring with it to decide if I loved it or hate it. But after a while I really fell in love with it. It’s different!

I've really become switched on to gold lately, started when I got my chnr. I rate that watch highly. It's cool.

Rolex need to update the movement to 70 hours. And get rid of any capped gold, if there is any.

I agree on the longer reserve; solid gold would likely double the price however (maybe triple) For me in reality the power reserve hasn't seemed to be an issue as I almost never pick-up the same watch I've taken off in the following week or two.
