Daytona screw down pushers and water resistant.

If the pushers on Daytona are unscrewed is it still ok in the water provided that the pushers are not activated?

The screw down pushers have nothing whatsoever to do with W/R they are just there to stop you activating the pushers by accident. And a fact the pushers have been pushed and activated at 30m by a French diving team on forum. And the pushers fully unscrewed at 60m with no problem, but I would advice not to use unscrewed and activate at depths over 5- 10m fresh or salt water.

Ha ha. Admit it’s a strange design. Never had a problem on any other chrono accidentally pressing

Leave them unscrewed unless swimming. Problem solved.

Pusher screw locks are just door stops, OP. They don't seal anything.

This is really good to know. I had always thought the screw downs were for WR
and protection. Is it okay to simply leave the pushers unscrewed permanently?
This would make the watch far more easier to use for me.

The main seals for the Daytona pushers, and the winding crown on most all Rolex watches are in the case all other seals are secondary.

Yes. They perform no seal. Leave them open until you are snorkeling or playing in the pool where a pusher could be pressed. Even then it wouldn't leak but you'd be pressing your luck.

Sure, if you like walking around with an unmade bed sitting on your wrist.

Good thread. On this same theme, the Yacht Master II pushers are not screw down and are water resistant when using. Many other companies use this water resistant pusher system like Omega in their POC but I believe the Yacht Master II is the the only Rolex model that does this.
