New Explorer 1 on my 7.5" Wrist

I received my new Explorer 1 today from my AD. I am going to spend the next week wearing it to see how it fits on my 7.5" wrist.

I currently own the 39mm version and find that the dial wears a little too large.

Looks good, It's small but classic. Some people might prefer the 39mm size but I don't think its controversial to say the proportions of the dial and case look much better on the new 36.

I have the 39MM too and find the same. Wish I could get my hands on the 36MM!

Looks good Merle. The Tudor looks like it’s in between the two as far as size, probably because of the wider bezel.

The 36mm looks small. The 39mm looks perfect.

An Explorer is meant to be 36mm

I like the 36. 39mm watches look find on your wrist, but the Explorer is a 36mm watch.

That said, I think what makes it look a bit small is that you've got the bracelet a bit too tight, and it makes it look as though it's pinching. Try a pick with the EasyLink extended.

Still looks almost toyish on your wrist. You need a Explorer II or Sea Dweller etc.

If I’m being honest, I can’t tell a meaningful difference between the 39 and 36 size wise on your wrist. I honestly prefer the proportions of the 36.

They both look great. However I find the size comments relentlessly entertaining.

I have never once in my entire life saw a man or woman wearing a watch and thought “that looks too small”. But I have seen a person wearing a watch that looked much too large countless times.

Congrats Merle! The new 36 looks fantastic on you. Please keep us posted as you get acquainted with your new Explorer. Pros and cons versus the 39 and lots of pictures please.

I think Rolex nailed it on the 39 and the new 36. Both will work for most people. I love the 39mm version but I'm a slight lean towards the 36 now.

Looks good. I also have a 7 1/2 wrist, and my 36mm DateJust is my favorite watch.

36 looks too small to me but photos can be misleading. Nonetheless, I prefer the 39, and I have a 7.6 wrist.
