78490

How far back does the 78490 clasp with solid bracelet date?
What was the predecessor to this?

Thanks

The 78490 Solid end link/solid center link bracelet and clasp is only used on the Daytona and was introduced when the latest 4130 equipped Daytona was introduced in 2000.

It was recently superceded with the 78590 which started showing up in Oct/Nov of 2008. The 78590 is identical except for the use of a GMT II style clasp instead of the Unique Daytona only clasp.

Sorry... I forgot the second part of your question..

the predecesor was the 78390A, a SEL bracelet used from 1998 to 2000. Before that, from about the mid-90's, the Daytona used the 78390 bracelet with 503B end-links.......

Hi Larry,

Is that possible to use new style bracelet 78590 (from Daytona 116520) on later series Daytona 16520?

Thanks

Old thread but I have the same question, namely how to get a new replacement bracelet for my Series A Zenith Daytona 16520, whether the 78390A is also what's on the 116520s.

Sorry, clarification: think the 116520s have different bracelet with better clasp. Question is whether those will fit the Zenith Daytona A series ( with SELs) or whether anyone is selling factory-new condition replacement 78390A bracelets

You put an old leather strap on it and send it in for a Service, asking for a new bracelet to be installed.. They'll sell you one..
