Hi AP forum,
My dream watch is or was 37mm 15450st in blue dial, now my eyes are turning to 15202OR jumbo in Rose gold.. based on your experience if i do get the 15450st do you guys reckon ill still think or dream of the 15202or Jumbo? Would it be more correct if i achieve on getting the 15202or jumbo FIRST which makes me stop thinking about 15450st? Theres no other watches I really dream or think of as a grail apart from these two… i do love watches that are dressy and sporty at the same time but not sure if I will like Rose Gold in real life because I dont like all gold watches in general especially yellow gold as i am more used to steel or silver tones metals :/ Please let me know your opinions would be great 😭 |

This seems like 7sins area of expertise...
![]() My personal opinion echos AK797. Go try them all first. The size still makes a difference, the dial is different as well. Make sure it is in fact your grail. I've tried on many watches that I thought were grail level only to walk away feeling it didn't fit right on the wrist or it didn't shine as well as in some photos. |

Leaving out all aspects regarding availability, something I learned on the forum over the years: if there are two pieces you want, both within your means, always go for the higher end one first.

I echo the above and absolutely don't find it crazy.
I have 6 different ROs... and -hopefully- another one incoming later this year and it won't probably be the last. |

Go for 15202OR with full RG bracelet and get another ROC (RG or SS) later.

The dream is always changing. Today’s grail isn’t always tomorrow’s grail.
But yes, 15202 if you can. |

If this will be your first RO, you might find the 15202OR on bracelet is a bit ostentatious to wear as often as you might otherwise like... Which probably leads to buying a stainless one later.
Of course that depends on your lifestyle, maybe as a grail watch you're not planning on wearing it very often, or maybe it doesn't stand out where you generally hang out. Perhaps ask yourself if you want the a highly regarded current Jumbo reference of the RO (15202) in gold, or the version of the icon you can actually wear without thinking about it too much? Is practicality important? I'm biased since I also only wear silver-toned accessories. |

15202or is end game level. if your wrists can support the size then 100% go with that as that really is the top of the game, but very flashy. still though with how hard it is to get a 15450 blue i would just go straight to the top

If you have access to both, get the 15202 for now. Guaranteed you’ll get another later hah!

Get 15202OR first. More special and better proportions.

IMO get the 15202 in gold 1st but only if you’re comfortable with the attention that a full gold AP will attract. The reason I’d get the Jumbo 1st is that you’ll probably want the jumbo in steel or white gold instead of the 15450 once you’ve worn a jumbo because the proportions of the design, that everyone talks about, really are perfect. If you’ve currently got the choice of a gold jumbo and a blue 15450 then you’re very fortunate.

My .02 having owned both, I am in the minority that thinks the 15450 dial is just way too small and I don't have large wrists.
The most important question is what else is in your collection or future collection? the 15202OR is not a watch you can wear daily, at that point a SS or WG 15202 would be much better. I LOVE my 15202OR, there are many times I feel uncomfortable wearing a full RG bracelet as beautiful as it is. It is funny how many times I look at the safe, think wow that is one of the most beautiful watches I have ever seen, then just pick something else to wear that isn't as ostentatious. I would get a 15300/15400 before the 15450 if you go pre-owned. My subjective opinion, the 15202 is a good as it gets for me and really is quintessential to any AP collection. ST VS OR ![]()
