Nothing to worry about. Its easy and cheap. You may not even need a new shaft.

Either you are very strong, or it was not properly fixed.

Bad as it may seem a broken crown stem isn't much of a problem. Stick some tape over the crown hole to keep garbage out and send it in.

Assuming that the stem lock mechanism doesn't need to be released to do that (I don't know for this one)

AND

Assuming there isn't a broken piece floating around in there

Then yes you likely could. I wouldn't until both of the above I was sure on.

It's unlikely that anything is broken........

Might need a screw or so tightened up, so you should seek the attention of a Rolex savvy watchmaker with a pressure tester..........

Correctomundo, at the cal 1570 is there a screw that hold the axle in place. Just a quick fix.

Sorry to see that. I can feel your pain. A few months ago I was winding my Sea Dweller and felt the mainspring break and unwind. Makes a nice buzzzzztttt sound followed by a string of WTF's

I was well overdue for service so no big deal it is back from RSC good as new.

Good luck
