First time Grand Seiko owner - Incoming
Quick background -- for the last few years my watch journey has been confined to the Rolex and Tudor family tree and I was beginning to get burned out. I still love the brand, but with the hype surrounding every model, AD games, and inflated grey market, the brand and hobby was beginning to lose me. So I went to a local watch shop that is an AD for several brands to casually browse, and spent some time chatting with the salesman at the Grand Seiko section. He showed me some of the popular usual suspects such as the Snowflake, but nothing really sang to me -- beautiful watches, just nothing I was really connecting with. But when he pulled out the SBGA415 "Winter", it was love at first sight. The combination of titanium, spring drive, somewhat quirky but beautiful 62GS case, and of course that stunning dial, I was hooked. I haven't had this feeling in a long time, but I was unable to leave the store without that watch.
So for the first time, I'm a Grand Seiko owner and couldn't be happier. I always admired Grand Seiko in pictures and found the brand interesting, but after having this one in the flesh and really admiring what a work of art it is, I'm absolutely in love. I'm looking forward to more time with this one on the wrist and learning about the history of Seiko and Grand Seiko. Apologies in advance for pestering you all with questions, ha. Too much text, this needs picture. Cheers |

Congrats!! I've always loved the Winter... such a subtle and beautiful dial coupled with the lightweight titanium. You have a winner!

Congrats! I recently acquired the spring from that series and it’s getting the bulk of the wrist time. Such a beautiful case and the dial work is killer. Enjoy wearing!

Looks great - congrats on the new GS. Love the details in their dials, markers and hands.

Congrats. You called it a quirky case but it’s actually my favorite they make. Not too thick and compact on the wrist in a good way

What won me over is how it looks on the wrist. It's a great shape and the thickness is just right, it wears wonderfully. It has all sorts of different angles I've never seen before on a watch and I love it for that. That time in the store is the first I'd seen it, and it immediately won me over. |
