Help me complete my core collection!

Hi all! Looking for some suggestions.

I started collecting in 2017 and have a modest collection. I'd like to complete what I call a "core" collection - a collection that covers the basics, has some variety, and can still be fun when I need it to be. Here's the collection so far:

1. Chronograph - Omega Speedmaster Professional - Hesalite crystal with 1861 movement - not looking to sell this for sentimental reasons
2. Daily driver/desk diver - Tudor BB58 black dial
3. Wild card/weekender - Milgauss Z-Blue
4. Beater - Casio G-shock GA-2100

I'm looking to add a white/silver dial watch that's versatile and under $10k, and NOT a Rolex DJ. Also not a pure dress watch...has to be versatile enough to be dressed down.

Do you have any suggestions?

I've tried on the JLC Reverso Classic Large Monoface and loved it. Also liked the JLC Master Control Date and JLC Master Control Calendar but the Calendar is out of budget. The 39mm Globemaster was great but prefer the Reverso dial and shape. Tried the Globemaster Annual Calendar - fantastic watch but a bit too thick at 14mm.

I'm open to other brands/options. Also open to re-jig my current collection to have a well-rounded "core." Once the core collection is complete, I plan on starting on quirky and unusual pieces.

Thanks in advance!!

Help me complete my core collection!

Few recommendations

1. Cartier Santos Large.
2. 42mm Girard-Perregaux Laureato White/silver.
3. Rolex 39mm OP 114300 in white dial.

Why not a Rolex DJ? That's the obvious answer & belongs in any "core" collection.

A Santos de Cartier is another of the all-time ultimate dress-up/dress-down classics to consider - especially with the quick-change bracelet/strap option.

IWC Mark XV white dial if you don't have to buy new. Rare watch within your budget that is very versatile depending on if you wear it on the black calf strap or the pyramid bracelet. There is also the much more common silver dial Spitfire version which is much less attractive IMO.

The JLCs you mentioned are a lot more on the dressy side though.

To me at under 10k nothing tops the glashutte original panomaticlunar. Get it on bracelet and its super versatile. Highly recommend seeing one in person when i did it was a no brainer addition.

Other suggestion is grand seiko which makes plenty of versatile white/silver dial options.

Omega AquaTerra, any Grand Seiko, Cartier Santos, IWC Portugueser. There are tons of options, but those would be my top four picks.

Great suggestions all! Keep ‘me coming! The ones that stand out most to me are the GO PanomaticLunar, the GP Laureato, and the IWC Portugieser. Will definitely check them out.

The Cartier Santos is a watch I loved on images but didn’t really do anything for me on wrist, unfortunately.

The SS DJ41 is again something that doesn’t appeal on my wrist. Maybe a TT DJ41 when I’m older.

Grand Seiko would fit nicely into your collection.

Two great suggestions. The GO PML can be dressed up or down pretty easily and has great strap and bracelet options. Only issue may be the thickness. The Panoreserve is a bit thinner with its manual wind movement, but no moonphase of course.

You said not a Rolex DJ, but what about the OP silver dial (w/the YG indices)?

Others to consider:

GP Laureato (my absolute favorite non-Rolex/Patek watch)
Omega Seamaster 1948 (another favorite non-Rolex)
IWC MK XVII white dial
Omega Constellation Master Chronometer

MC or Louis Cartier, maybe; Must (Solo) or Francaise, no way.

I'd consider an Aqua Terra in that bunch. Affordable, great watch, lots of variations to chose from. I'd also agree with others recommendations on Grand Seiko.
