Serial numbers on datejusts?
Hello, I am a long time reader on this forum, from the Netherlands. Somewhere in the coming time its possible for me to buy a rolex, and it will be a new datejust.
If its possible i would like to get a very recent one and not one thats been on a shelf for long. However with the shortages nowadays this problem is maybe nonexistent anymore... Where can I find serial numbers on the watches, and which ones are the most recent ones? Are they also on the papers coming with the watch? Have there already been improvements from rolex on the newer 3235 movement? Thanks in advance, Tbird |

Watches are not like a loaf of bread that would go stale.
You could ask the Dealer about the shipping invoice to have an idea of when they got it. Naturally, you will still not know when it was actually manufactured or how long it was warehoused in Geneva before being shipped out. Serial numbers are not actually issued "serially", but are assigned randomly to each watch. You cannot tell anything by the serial number.

But, The AD wont have had the stick for long, The watches sell too quickly for that to happen. Your 5 year warranty starts from the day you buy it anyway so you wont have any worries at all. I have a 2021 bought 3235 watch .... It runs withing 0.5 seconds per day It is currently running at about +2 seconds per week. I have a 2021 bought 3285 watch also thats running at -2 seconds per week also. I dont see thre being a problem at all. There has been a big thread on this very subject ..... https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=786299 Dont worry at all. there is no need to.
