Poll: How old are "Rootbeer" owners?

Hi guys,

maybe for some strange question but as here are many Rootbeer owners I'm wondering what's the age of you.

There was a debate few days ago with my friends about the age of the people wearing it.

Let's see... :)

EDIT: can someone create a poll for me, as I can't have this option :/ Perhaps, 20-30; 30-40; more than 40. Thank you.

I’m 34, not yet attracted to a RB. I’ll let you know when that changes, but don’t expect to hear from me in the next 15-20 years.

I think north of 80, or real old like 32 or something.

37.....Bought the CHNR in March 2020 when I was 36.....I've always thought Rose Gold was awesome, and the TT look is very subtle and perfect. It truly is the perfect everyday watch. Its actually the only watch I own...

Is your question based on the premise that older people like two tone or full gold watches? If yes, that may not be fully accurate. We have a 22 year old dude in our watch club and all he wears is Gold AP’s and YG Daytona’s. In today’s world, most people who can afford a gold watch (either at MSRP or secondary market) wear gold watches.

Disclaimer: I’m not a fan of the Rolex Everose Gold. Hence I may never buy it.

33 here. I own the original root beer GMT Master I on jubilee with the copper brown dial. Was a gift and probably the watch I cherish most. I honestly don’t wear it much but I love it.

RB is attractive to the people who were raised in brown. Back when every excellent appliance was brown, Rolex also started releasing the RB.

Check for high end stuff. The brown is the color of a product made by an engineer solving for X, free of the marketing MBAs nonsensical decisions. Brown is good.

I bought my TT when I was 29 and still love it! However, full gold isn’t really my style.

Received a Root Beer from my dad for graduation more than 30 years ago. He is now 80. I wore it all through my 20s and 30s, abused the hell out of it. Just recently had it serviced. I still think it is one of the most beautiful watches I have seen—matches my skin tone quite well too!.

Got it when I was 51. Sold it when I was 53.

Thought it was beautiful out of the gate, but ultimately spent most of its time in my safe and rarely on my wrist.

I never say never, but doubt I’ll ever buy a two tone watch again.

Poll: How old are "Rootbeer" owners?

I am skewing the demographic - got my TT last year at the young age of 65.

Absolutely love the watch.

And to Timelord - that watch is stunning and what a great dad.

That's fantastic! Is the Tiffany stamp rare for this reference? I haven't seen one like this before

Thank you, (and thank you too @Rushhour) I have not seen many 1675/3s with a Tiffany stamp. And to the next question, no, I do not have the box and papers. My Dad purchased it new at Tiffany and tossed the paperwork right after. There is actually a 16753 (next model reference) in the classifieds on TRF now with a Tiffany stamp.

11 or 15? I asked about an 11 originally and was quoted 9 months. Then I asked about a 15 and didn't even get an answer. I went grey and got a 15 and 2 weeks after my initial inquiry the AD called and said my watch was in and I had to say I got it already.

45 and have the root beer since one year. Problem is that now when I wear steel only watches I do not get fuzzy anymore… gold is dangerous

Bought mine when I was 48 but only wore it for the first time last week.

50 now but I’d have bought this watch and worn it in my mid thirties no problem.

It’s gorgeous.
