Laurent Ferrier x Revolution LE

Champagne dial with manual-wind movement

Salmon dial with micro-rotor movement

Both are limited to 12 pieces.

Thoughts?

Laurent Ferrier is always a little too restrained for my taste. Lange is about as far as I'll go when it comes to simplified aesthetic on the dial side.

These are very nice, the whole set of WeiFerrier are the only LFs I've really found desirable.

I'm not just saying this because I just purchased a Grossmann x Rake watch, but I think Wei does a great job collaborating with brands. I do generally align with his tastes in watches though. However, his taste in button-up shirts...

Salmon dial micro-rotor watch is looking good. But USD 54.5k seems steep for a three hander. Not the first time I feel Wei Koh overpriced a collaboration piece. The five USD 121k Chopard Flying T watches haven't sold out despite some heavy marketing over the last few months.

Actually I prefer the gold tone dial.

Salmon dial looks the best when muted:) not sunburst. Just my 2cents.

Gold is the opposite.

Not to jump to his defense, because the $54.5k price for the salmon does seem a little high. The Chopard Flying T when introduced was $118.5k. So the premium is minimal on that watch.

I mean, it is a double-wheel natural escapement and not easy to design or make with extremely tight tolerances.

But not to defend the price...

Interesting to see how LF is emblematic of rising prices in the industry. When I bought my Galet Micro-Rotor in January of 2020, MSRP for a steel model was $40K, and significant discounts were available. 18 months later and we are looking at $55K for a steel LE with a micro blasted movement (far easier/cheaper to manufacture than Côtes de Geneve and perlage finissage).
