Rolex Warranty and Receipt After Service?
I just had my watch serviced and switched the dial by Ben Bridges in San Deigo. I did not get a receipt from Rolex for the service or the dial change. I also did not receive or a service warranty. The watchmaker at the store told me that Rolex is no longer providing receipts for service. He told me he could make a service receipt from Ben Bridges.
Is Rolex service via an authorized dealer no longer providing service receipts or 2-year service warranty cards? |

I would have expected a detailed quote for the work required, a receipt for the work done and a Rolex service warranty?
Doesn’t sound like a Rolex service to me.

Exactly. They have always written with a full quote and asked for confirmation and always give a receipt, even through an AD (although I usually go straight to the RSC).

It sounds like their in-house Watchmaker did the work not RSC.
I would expect a fully detailed quote & receipt for the work if RSC did it, including the watch being returned in an official Rolex green pouch - although I have read that pouch has more changed to a different style, but the point is you should have got something to confirm the work carried out. Rolex serviced your watch and have refused to give you a warranty or even confirm they did the work?
I'd have a chat with Rolex about that. |

Rolex Warranty and Receipt After Service?
@OP RSC's that I personally know would NEVER do that. Either the watchmaker is a novice or a liar or both. There are watchmakers who present themselves as specialists but are not. Next time, you send your watch directly to a RSC.

Your watch was not serviced by Rolex but by an independent watchmaker.
Price should reflect that. Plenty AD’s play this game, some additional gains for them. Doesn’t mean the service is not done correctly. There are a few independents who I would prefer over the RSC. Rolex always gives you a price in writing with required and optional jobs to be done on which you have to agree before they do anything. Upon completion of the service you get an invoice and a laminated warranty card with a validity of two years. Watch is delivered with a green velvet pouch or the newer style faux leather. If it runs fine all good ![]()

Rolex Warranty and Receipt After Service?
I experienced that too 1x with a very reputable and well know AD, although I told them to send the watch to the RSC. Since then, myself directly to RSC, always with very good results. One has to write them what should be done (e.g. a movement service only) but also what they MUST not touch or change. That always worked perfectly for my watches.

What would be interesting would be if you had to go to Rolex for warranty work within 2 years from the service and they wouldn't cover it. Once the story unfolded I doubt the AD would last long. Seems a dangerous game for them to play.

Rolex Warranty and Receipt After Service?
If you received the service card from the AD, the RSC will not cover it and they will send you to the AD.

Of course, if you just tell the AD it needs a service then I guess they've done nothing wrong....

Rolex Warranty and Receipt After Service?
When I brought the vintage watch to the AD, I only TOLD them that they must send it to RSC for service, nohing written. I received the AD warranty card and the movement service was excellent, so no problems, lesson learnt.

Sounds suspect. I bet their in house watchmaker did the service.
This would bother me a lot. |

OP: Did you tell your AD to send the watch to an RSC for service OR did you tell your AD to service your watch? Details and clear directions are important in these matters.

Green card with date of service & 2y warranty is a standard.

A typical service by an AD is not a Rolex service - meaning that "Rolex" did not service it. It is a service of a Rolex (watch) by an AD watchmaker; you get the AD's warranty.

if your watch is serviced by RSC, you would get a 2-year service warranty card and a detail service receipt. Otherwise, your watch is serviced by 3rd party not authorized by Rolex.

Sounds like total horse _____ if it was serviced by RSC. I just had my wife's DJ serviced and it came with a 2 year warranty card, receipt, along with the new Rolex Leather Pouch this week.
