I’ve grabbed one as a present for my eldest son who starts secondary school next year. Looks amazing to me and he’ll love it as he like my Explorer and SD4K which this looks to a hybrid of both

Love a good Timex, but those Hodinkee pics look weird with the minute hand on 2 and the hour hand still on 10. That must have taken some (pointless) effort, unless the alignment is genuinely that bad.

Like the look, but a bit big for my liking, and too much for a Timex. Also, why was it not made with a bidirectional bezel and presented as a pilot watch (much like the new Hamilton)? Seems a lot more fitting with that WR and strap option, rather than calling out how it's a dive-style watch you cannot dive with.

Bought one for my son. We both like the design and the entry price for a mechanical piece. Tempted to get one for myself as well.

Soooo good and priced right. Got two, thinking of buying more for gifts to friends.
Wish they had a lume pic.

I bought one. Will be great for traveling when I don't want to bring an expensive watch.

The leather quality is pretty good. I own a lot of Seikos in this category and the leather on this Timex is much better.

A weak attempt to capture the lume. In person, it’s pretty good.

Day 2 with the Waterbury. Much better made than the Q. I like it more than the small Marlin, which was too small for me, I gave it to my father. Better than the big Marlin, which has a loud movenent. The leather strap on this watch is very comfortable, which it should be for $279. Very nice for a casual weekend watch.

I just noticed that the original straps on this watch are the quick release type.

Looks great, but as usual the Hodinkee tax takes the price over what I would be willing to pay. I'd probably swap out the strap for a Nato, but this would definitely get wrist time.

It looks good but, as usual, I don't like the Hodinkee branding. It would be better if it had a sapphire crystal and a screw down crown, even if they raised the price $20. The strap, like the watch, is made in China, but some have said it's leather from Red Wing, which would explain the good quality.

Two just arrived, the band is reeeeeally nice! The timepiece is also quite visually balanced and lovely imho. When using the bezel, it makes a light-n-cheap clicking when you rotate it, yet seems very durable and stiff-ish.
Frankly, really well done Hodinkee, color me impressed and glad i got two :) Hodinkee_Dark_Dial.jpg Hodinkee_Light_Dial.jpg Hodinkee_Lume_Dial.jpg

Always happy to help. It's a good piece for the $, comfy to wear, and would make a great gift for the kids too. Have a smaller wrist gete, so the size works well. Did I mention the band is reeeeeeeally good. Love how they also chose quick-release spring bars. Tudor could learn from this!!!
Btw, bet it'll rock on NATO.
