126719BLRO Meteorite

Is anybody really paying what these are for sale for? 20k more than the blue dial? I just wonder if there was a lot of hype and the gray dealers have bought them all up for so much that they can’t sell them. A gmt meteorite search on chrono 24 will return dozens of these in the 65 to 75K range.

So my question is, does anybody know of anybody that has actually paid that much?

Yes people do pay up for them. I know of someone and he’s expressed zero regrets. It’s better in hand than in photos too.

Bought it at retail. And can tell you there is no way $75k would buy it off my wrist. Even at $150k I would probably still not sell it. Too special of a piece.

I am lucky to have all my Rolexes at MSRP and I will never sell this gorgeous one no matter at what price.

Would not recommend the purchase at this price. I have noticed that they are sitting on shelves and not moving as much. However, I would agree that it is a special piece.

I want to buy one but I’m not interested at 30K over retail. But in my opinion, it’s the best looking Rolex.

Saw one in Vegas up close (playing cards with the wearer) and it is just spectacular. Guy told me he had several other watches that never made it on his wrist after he got it, which I understood.

I think it’s easier to justify the premium on it than many other models. Great watch!

Little makes sense in this hobby. With that said, the meteorite BLRO is a truly special watch.

Really? I totally do. Meteorite dials are special and very rare. The blue dial WG is a great watch, but not in the same league as the meteorite.

I can see that delta continue to grow.

I have a request for one and yes I know a couple of people who have it. Super special. Of all the meteorite dial watches I like this the best.

One reason is the dial. Being Meteorite, each dial really is unique (pattern etc) with no other dials matching it.

The grey price is crazy but it would seem there are plenty of people willing to pay it or they wouldn’t be advertised at that.

Nothing in this hobby surprises me any more, especially since Platinum Daytona’s started selling for over £100k when 3 or 4 years ago, they would sit for months at £45k to £50k

I got it at retail from my AD and while it's exceptionally beautiful, I do have trouble reading the time because the hands tend to blend in with the dial. For that reason, I tend not to wear it very often.

It’s honestly one of the most difficult in the Rolex lineup to acquire at retail. For that reason and since it’s so spectacular, yes, I’d pay at least 20-30k over current retail, which I feel is too low to begin with.

I paid 20k over retail and was happy to do it for this watch…would do it again in a heartbeat.

There are after market meteorite dials if you want to go that route.

I agree. Got mine at retail, but when compared to the green dial Daytona or the panda Daytona, the GMT II Meteorite seems like a steal even at the grey price.

I was lucky enough to hold one and wear one and, frankly, if it was something I could afford, I would buy one at current secondary market prices or even more. Pictures don't do the depth of that watch justice. It is a very special timepiece IMHO.

I love meteorite, but to me ...not a chance in hell id pay those prices. Far to many more interesting watches in that price point. BUT- that's just me, its a beautiful watch and everyone values these things differently.

Personally I don't understand why they're not commanding bigger premiums in this current market. When compared with the Green Daytona/ Platona/ White Daytona and even the Tiffany OP - all of which are trading more than double RRP - this beast is as beautiful, arguably more so. And as for rarity - show me an Insta Post or anything that has someone with a handful of them as you often see traders flexing with the others. These are not a common breed.

Once the Meteorite Daytona's start hitting the market properly, I suspect these will inflate further so I'd be hesitant to hold off if you're really wanting one.

Another consideration I wonder is whether these things will get discontinued. Given the limited supply of the material and the newly released array of dials for the Daytona's - they can't keep churning them out forever. Just my opinion.

Probably because even without any premium, these already represent a different ball game from all the stainless steel references.
