does this sound like a good trade

I am currently in negotiations to trade my mint fullsize f serial 16622 ss/plat yachtmaster for a black dial milgauss m serial milgauss in lnib condition. both watches have box and papers. he's also going to throw in around 530 dollars. i really like both watches, so any advice from you guys would be a big help. thanks a lot.

From a monetary standpoint, it's a good trade for you, slightly.

I've seen Milgauss selling for around $4400. A few months ago the 16622 was easily found at $5,000. They have come down a little recently, say $4800.

So the money is about right with you coming out a little ahead.

Now you just have to decide which watch you like better.

Sounds like a good deal. Both watches are worth more or less the same given your YM is F-serial. Good luck.

I think I would want more money. I could be wrong, but I think a lot more money.

Update, well I can see I was wrong.
Nevermind...

I think it's a good deal for both. I find the Milgauss to be a very nice watch.

It is a decent trade, but you will take a big hit on the Milgauss should you decide to sell it...just look at how much the YM has dropped,

here's the bigger question: would it be more profitable for me to sell the yacht-master and then use the money to purchase a milgauss?

I like the YM much better than the Milgauss. I would stay put.

Your yacht would sell for around $5000 and is soon to need a service. The mil sells for around $4600 and your getting cash. The deal is about even, if you really want the mil make the trade.

I think it's a fair deal if you'd be happier with the Milgauss.

I would not trade. My advice would be to pick up the Milgauss in a couple more months rather than parting with the a yacht master.

I wouldn't trade either - in the long run, I think the YM will be worth more. Plus it's got a date movement AND plat dial/bezel.

Really, I think both of you are winners if you get the watch you really want.

Based on current values, the trade is fair. Of course, it depends on whether you'll be happier wearing the Milgauss instead of the YM.

Trading an old, depreciated classic for a new depreciating model hardly makes fiscal sense.

But I would do it if the watch sings to you. If you want to save money and still end up with a newer watch, I would wait a bit more for the Milgauss to depreciate.

For what it's worth, my vote is for the Platty.

If the yachtmaster doesn't talk to you anymore and you love he Milgauss, then I would trade. Right now doing a trade is much better than trying to sell your watch and then trying to buy another one.
