2022 allocation availability

Hi everyone. AD asked me to pick a model for 2022 I would like to get the most. For all kinds of reasons I am indifferent between GMT BLNR on jubilee and Daytona RG black dial OF. That said, I want to request whatever is easier to get. Any insights which of these two are more “readily available”? Thanks in advance.

I have the ss Daytona and the Pepsi on jubilee ,although it's not the rg on oysterflex, I'd choose the Pepsi

Your AD will probably find out their allocation for the year in January.

Your AD will also be able to tell you what sort of wait list and demand they have for each.

You should ask your AD.

If you're asking which is less in demand generally (to then pick the other) look to rrp:grey price ratios on the grey market.

The BLNR is easier to get, however I own both a BLNR and a Daytona on an Oysterflex, and I think the latter is a far superior watch. I’d pick the 116519 OF in a heartbeat knowing what I know now. And another thing to note is that Everest straps are far short in terms of quality compared to the OEM OF.

I believe ss is usually more available than rg at most ADs. So i’d guess the gmt. Butt better to ask your AD lol

That’s great to hear from your AD. Mine said the opposite…not to ask for anything in 2022. LOL… but will I listen… no…

I would think the BLNR is more readily available for sure.

BLNR will be more readily available I would think...they simply make more SS than PM pieces overall, and the Daytona you desire is a specific combo that will only come through now and again.

I imagine there are more clients seeking BLNRs vs RG Daytonas (due to more attainable price point among other things), of course, but by and large I still think the chance of a BLNR allocation is higher.

Both amazing watches, both will not disappoint (in my opinion).

Since your AD has given you a choice of what model you want "the most" I would think that the AD would know which ones are easier/harder to obtain by them.

Don't settle for second choice because of easier to get.

Always goes for the one you love the most even you have to wait longer.

This. Very hard to compare availability of a steel model vs gold model. Steel is produced in higher quantities and also more heavily demanded due to price point. But as stated, there are a number of permutations of the OF Daytona, so even within the smaller quantities it’s a crapshoot as to how many of the specific model you want they will receive.

It's going to depend on the size of the AD. Rarer models (YG JM Daytona, Meteorite Pepsi, Playtona) will only come in every 2-3 years for a smaller AD. If you can find out what their likely allocation is in advance, then you're not going to request a "no show in 2022" one.

I'd go with the Rose Gold Daytona if you like that one best. But both pieces you quoted are pretty different and unique.

Tough to say. It’s supply and demand. The AD will receive far more BLNRs, but the demand for that watch is also much greater (more people interested in a steel GMT than a PM Daytona). However, they’ll receive less of the RG Daytonas. You’ll have to find out where that balance is. Best to have a frank discussion with your AD.

Tough one.. so different.. I own a jubilee blnr and a full gold Daytona.. they're both so different and i'd wear them for different occasions. I will say that I will wear the blnr more because its versatile and i can bang it around and not worry as much.

Very nice of your AD to proactively ask what you wanted this year! Good AD's and SA's can make a huge difference

I’d never buy a watch based on “easiest to get”.

That’s a tough one. Can’t go wrong here and since your AD is asking you you’ll probably get the one you ask for within a reasonable timeframe.

What a nice AD!

I would say the RG Daytona on Oysterflex if I had to choose.

The BLNR on jubilee v oyster needs to be seen in person. I changed my interest after seeing both.

I suspect demand for the PM Daytona would still be less than the BLNR. And would be easier to get. And if you can, the PM Daytona is (in my opinion) the much better choice.

It's the one I made although I went for 116519LN when I was given the choice.

I think the PM Daytona may be tough since they don't receive many and each piece probably has a different person waiting for that specific model. But go with what you're really feeling you want at the moment.

I would rather go with RG Daytona Meteorite or Black dial with full bracelet, good for all occasions, dress up or casual.
