18k white gold jubilee bracelet authentic?
Hey guys,
New member and fellow Day Date collector here! I stumpled across a WG jubilee. It weighs in at 56 grams and has hollow center and outer links. Seems to be in check with other jubilees from that era. It has no numbers engraved in the endlinks, as president bands for 4 digit models (53) and 5 digit models (55/b) have. Also I only have president bracelets and a brick florentine bracelt for comparison. Those have plenty of hallmarks, whereas this one has only the standard stamps inside the clasp aka Rolex in the center, the patent stuff and swiss made on the left and Rolex SA + 750 on the right. The other half of the clasp has a something stamped into it. I have a clear interpretation of what it means, but I dont wanna write it down here so you wont get biased in your interpretation. All I can say is I found two (three actually, but from one seller got no response yet) other WG jubilees on chrono and they both looked the same. Down to that "up to interpretation" stamp. Usually I wouldnt be so sceptical, but another fellow collector told me that 18k WG jubilees often are faked in actual 18k white gold (not sure what often really means as there are less than a handful available across the whole internet for 36mm vintage models), plus the hallmark thingy is setting me off a bit. But then again I also think that 3 WG Jubilees from different owners in different countries and all are fake? Unlikely! However the motivation to fake such a thing might be high as those bracelets in nice condition can add a couple tens of thousands for the bracelet alone. PS: I am aware that the jubilee didnt come as catalogue option with the Day Date. But enough old Day Dates have been equipped with Jubilees as it seems. Any help would be much appreciated! I want to learn and in this case I clearly dont know what I am looking at and what I have to look for! |

Hi, can no one help me out?
Via other channels I have no conclusive opinion yet. Some say it doesnt check out, others say it is real, but no who says its real is explaining what makes it real. best regards |

OP, I tried looking for info on your bracelet topic because I love these nuanced details. I could not find anything to support your bracelet’s authenticity. But as you know, we do expect a hallmarks presence on authentic Rolex gold watch or bracelet etc. If the price was right for the bracelets I would assume you are ahead no matter what the verdict is. Good luck
