Help needed!! Which ceramic watch?
Hello fellow TRF and happy new year!
I’m torn between those two watches and would like to decide on one! The omega: Love the idea of owning piece of space The Satin and polished ceramic case is amazing The Zenith: Love the all ceramic (including the bracelet) Better movement with 1/100 sec chronograph Always wanted a skeletonized dial For reference, my wrist size is 7.6” so can handle either of the 44mm watches well Tried them both on and like them equally Thoughts? Input? Which one Would you go with and why? Thank you!!

If it's truly a coin flip between them for you I'd go with the one that fits in best with the rest of your collection. Like for myself I love both but would go for the Zenith in a heartbeat since I already have a Speedy and I love how the Zenith is so different from everything I have.

Both gorgeous, wish I had the wrist size for these. It’s a win-win for you, go with your gut based on the feeling you got when trying them on.

I’d really like the defy extreme myself so that’s my vote.

Zenith, only because I think there are better variant of the speedmaster, not to mention to moon watch.

Pure aesthetically I would choose the Zenith. I’ve had it on my wrist and it looks reallllly good in real life. However, it’s really thick and combined with the larger size it is a big block on your wrist. But the skeleton dial, the bizarre 1/100th chronograph (you have to see it move to believe it), the integrated look, the bracelet, make it all worth it.
This Grey Side of the Moon looks a bit “boring” in comparison to the Zenith. However, the meteorite dial makes it up plenty. To me it’s the most special type of dial you can get on a watch (not always the prettiest, but OK). I don’t like the strap (really tooo thick at the lugs), but that can easily be changed to something else. If you like both equally, go for the meteorite :) What is in the rest of your collection? More watches on straps or bracelet? |

You’re right about the omega strap! I like the zenith bracelet more than the GSOTM thick strap But my collection (mostly rolex) are on bracelet with only a couple of strap pieces. Again I figure that the zenith can be switched to strap too

I already have other speedmasters. It’s the meteorite that intrigues me

Some thoughts:
Of the two, I would go Omega, but not the one you have chosen. Given your current Speedy collection, I would go DSOTM, Apollo 8. Would add some versatility along with checking the ceramic box. I would also add an off-topic selection in suggesting the Blancpain 5200 Chrono, any of the ceramic ones. Top notch movement, ceramic, and you still have many Speedys to check the “Omega Chrono” box. |

The omega you consider doesn't really look ceramic, more metallic IMO Meteorite is cool!!!! I wanted. Soyuz bad, and had teo opportunities to buy, but passed and regret both times :( Would prefer no sedna gold highlights Would prefer a less formal strap Zenith in full ceramic is very different looking and modern I don't like slab sided cases, and I think perhaps the omega wears its thickness better as a result of the "layers" when looking in profile Maybe of no help for your decision, but a thread bump at least :) Sent from my SM-G780G using Tapatalk

Does it have to be a chrono?
Of your two choices I’d take the Omega. I’ve been considering a full ceramic watch lately and am really drawn to the GP Laureato. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
