Help needed for Rolex ref 1530
Dear friends, can someone kindly help with my question pls.
Will a normal datejust dial and hands fit a Rolex ref 1530? If so, which model datejust will fit pls? Also, movement for the ref 1530 is 1570 right? Thank you. Sent from my SM-N986B using Tapatalk |

The Rolex reference 1530 uses a 1570 movement. The datejust references using the same movement-series is the 1600 references, as in 1600, 1601, 1603, 1607 etc. They use a pie-pan dial. The dial will fit the movement, however, since the case is quite different and it also uses a chapter ring, I would not think a DJ dial will fit in a 1530 case.

The lume dots on a 1530 are on the rehaut not the dial as on a typical Datejust.
I think the hour markers are set up different as well. I did a quick search and could not find any similar dials on the 1600 series Datejust. |

Thank you guys for trying to help me with an answer. Got some feedback from a valued forumer that a normal 1600 series dial will not fit.
Hence i will just wear the watch as it is till i can find a neater/nicer condition dial. Cheers!!! Sent from my SM-N986B using Tapatalk |

Are you familiar with the ref 1530? Not very small.

The ref. 1530 is 36 mm.
There's been a dial for sale for a while on eBay. It's pricey, but since it hasn't sold for a while, maybe you can make an offer: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275031476753 It's not easy to come across these dials. I've seen one on VRF the past 2-3 years, and this one on eBay, and that's about it. Especially the rehaut can get miscolored. If you have a ref 1530, I would consider sending it to Rolex to get a new dial. |

With good1530s now going for £14-18,000 on C24, I don't feel that 2 piece dial is expensive at all at that price esp as so rare (but of course only if it's pukka)...as it only 7-10 % of the watches value !

The OP should be all over this one on Ebay at a better price since a clean 1530 is a 20k+ watch now days. Quote:
The wider integrated bracelet at the case helps the 1530/1630 to wear larger than an early 36mm datejust/daydate.

Personally I'd always avoid a refinished dial and look out a used T Swiss T coming up - alternatively Rolex might have a nice Swiss service dial, but if wanting to keep fully vintage that might not suit. A wtb might elicit one in someone's draw.... worked for me on a similar 9101 Tudor !
Op only needs the flat dial ring is fine - long shot but this was for sale a couple of years ago https://www.reddit.com/r/rolex/comme...xtra_dials_or/

Deal breaker then.
Disregard my ebay agreement post since an original dial is greater value for the watch regardless of its appearance. I try to avoid refinished, touched up, added diamond, aftermarket, etc Rolex dials at all cost…

I'm glad the seller disclosed as refinshed because it clearly is -- these dials are exceedingly rare these days -- I sold one a few moons ago and also still have my 1530 -- outstanding watch that keeps increasing in value...patience is the key on this (like most vintage hunts, but even more so with the 1530)

Dear all, thank you for the various suggestions and link.
I have decided to wear the watch as it is. Any new or used dial i find is not going to match the rehaut cream colour since they are originally silver. Btw, if your rehaut has not turned to cream or ivory, no issues putting in a new dial. Reason being the 'T SWISS T' and tritium plots are on the rehaut. :) Take care guys!!! |

Gosh darn that I didn't buy the 1530 I tried on at around 6k a few years ago. Prices on these have gone nuts.
Guess I'll stick with the Oysterquartz. |

Dial prices have gotten crazy. For example the prices for unusual factory diamond set 18239 dials are insane now.
