If that watch was 42mm with a date and orange GMT hand it would be perfect!

I'm a huge fan of the OP lineup. Hard to beat a black dial Rolex on an oyster bracelet. Buy any Rolex with that description and you have a watch for life that will never go out of style. Although, there's just something unique and magical about the lumed 3,6,9 of the Explorer. Of the two, I'd go Explorer, but there's no wrong answer. Which one are you thinking between 36 and 41?

Nice photos, especially of the two-tone which looks fantastic on your wrist. Will admit I didn’t appreciate it when it came out, but now see what’s special about it.

I have to admit....I HATED the two tone Explorer when it was announced. My wife said I had the same look as when we saw "The Last Jedi" in the theater. A few days later it started growing on me and now it's my favorite watch by far. Funny how that works.

I've been on the waiting list for quite a long time for a polar. Unusually long I'd say. Usually my local AD comes through in 6 months. I'm going on well over a year now!

I would have to agree with the above entirely. Two things I'll add in favor of the Explorer: its gloss (or, historically, matte) dial vs. the OP's sunburst and the clasp.

Had the Explorer been an entirely unobtainable model for some reason, though, I'd give little thought to getting a black OP instead (though my favorite OP is the silver in the current line, white in the previous).

Thanks so much Brian! I'm an absolute sucker for all things Explorer and Explorer II. I'm hoping to pick up my first ever polar sometime this year.
