Omega Speedmaster Steel to be on Waiting List soon?

It’s their bread and butter model. Knowing swatch, they will make sure omega makes plenty.

Just get a MoonSwatch. According to all the YouTubers and everyone in the know, these are awesome. Get multiple colors. What’s not to love? A real cool feature is that if you get the Neptune, your wrist turns blue.

Well the 321 already is. They could reduce supply of the Moonwatch if they wanted to I guess but I doubt they would and it would take some time

idk, the manager at my OB (who i am very friendly with) said they ran out of sapphire sandwich Speedy's this past Saturday and it would take some time to get some more in. Only have like 2 or 3 hesalite models left right now.

Maybe inundate the market with a "cool" affordable look-alike, grab new watch enthusiasts attention, reduce the #'s of the real thing and then, eventually, when new enthusiasts really get the bug, they'll pony up to get an actual real Speedy - Supply goes down, demand goes up. I'm no marketing person, but maybe this could be the thinking....

I ran into the exact opposite at my OB. Had the sapphire sandwich, no hesalite. Tried it on, took a lot of willpower not to buy it.

It would be interesting to know how many MoonSwatch purchasers are first time Speedmaster owners vs how many already had an Omega Speedmaster in their collection before they bought the MoonSwatch.

Even more, would be curious to know how many of those whose first Speedmaster is a MoonSwatch end up buying an Omega Speedmaster because of it.

I read earlier today that the Moonswatch has rekindled interest in the Speedy Pro, so, if true, there could, indeed, be a waiting list soon. What boggles my brain is that people on eBay are paying thousands for the Moonswatch. I’ll just wait to get one, at MSRP, when they are readily available, but it won’t be the bright blue model.

I had to wait a month when I bought my Speedy Sappire last year. Was in boutique today and they said both sapphire and helselite we sold out right now. I think it depends on country and state etc. I will but a Moonswatch or two once things settle down at retail probably as they seem like fun knockabout watches.

I walked into a Caribbean airport AD yesterday, was immediately offered a new sapphire sandwich for 15% off and duty free (it was in the case). Seemed like a good deal, so I took it. Been wanting one for a long time, but I actually have had difficulty finding one at an AD new (let alone at a discount). She did tell me that Omega is only allowing them to sell duty free for the next two weeks - not sure if that was true.
