YM 42 - WG + Falcon’s Eye dial
Spotted this beauty hidden amongst the new releases for 2022. Small change from the Matt black dial on the original release, but I think it’s awesome!

Caught my eye as well. Will need to see in person before I decide whether I'm upset over my current YM42 or need to upgrade

At first glance I thought it was a defective image/picture…..definitely need to see it in the flesh that dial.

I’d expect you’ll see variation across individual dials, as with meteorite and eisenkiesel etc. which only adds to the charm.

I like it a lot. Too bad not in my price range…
A TI version with that dial on the other hand, perfect! |

I wonder if it will look better in person? I love the Tiger Eye Dials of yesteryear, and this is a gray/blue version of that stone. But I get it - not for everyone.
Also, it simply might not photograph well. It's very difficult to photograph the meteorite dial - it's simply much prettier in the metal. |

I think this model is knocked unnecessarily.
We haven't even seen decent pics of it . My old dictum : You cannot judge it until seen in the metal . It may just be fantastic. |

Terrible dial, the more I see it, the uglier it looks to me.

The best Rolex dials usually look like crap in pictures. Meteorite for example. Depth, crispness and clarity are totally lost in pictures. They don't photograph as well as the flat, matte colors.

Possibly. Right now though, judging from the pictures, this Falcon's eye dial is an eyesore (pun intended).

Don't "get" the dial on pictures; maybe it will all become clear in real life.

I think it looks like the sea on that one, and therefore suits the YM
To me it harks back to Rolex use of stone dials from the 70's It will have a depth and 3D like quality and will shimmer/sheen in the light. Each dial will be unique. Falcons Eye is a blue variety of quartz. It is a member of the chalcedony mineral family AFAIK |
