2022 Standouts (for me)
Watches I want to buy:
1. DD40 platinum fluted bezel ... wow ... love in olive green and ice-blue 2. DJ41 mint green fluted motif (my pref would be fluted WG bezel and jubilee bracelet) 3. DJ41 mint green sunburst (my pref would be fluted WG bezel and oyster bracelet) 4. YM42 WG Falcon's Eye Glad to see Milgauss still around, but thinking it's next for a facelift in 2023 (only watch with 31 movement ... 48 hours power reserve left in the lineup?) Speculators disappointed with Platona and JM Daytona remaining, but I'm glad as I'd love to one day get a Platinum Daytona (been offered, but couldn't swing it at the time). Sad to see the bright colors leave the OP41 lineup (and yellow and coral all together), but happy the dark green remains (my favorite color). Pearl-master is gone ... buy maybe just a special order type now. Never saw the need for them anyway. I'm surprised by the 126720VTNR ... seems odd to me, but if no one wants it, it is certain to become a highly prized watch. I love green, but it's not singing to me yet (check with me in a few weeks ... I may be in love with it by then). That green appears to be brighter than the dial on my Sub41LV, thus the VT vs. the LV in the Sub. I can't wrap my head around winding the crown and screwing it back down, setting the time ... all on the left side. Would I turn the watch upside down and still use my right hand? Gotta think about that one. The new 136660 DSSD is a head-scratcher as I can't see much changed other than a darker (perhaps Titanium) HEV, but hoping the case is thinner to make that amazing watch (best dial Rolex has ever made) more wearable. Time will tell. The new Air-King 126900 is improved with lumed 3 6 9 markers and crown guards, but it's not calling to me. Surprising to me that Rolex hasn't upgraded all OysterFlex Daytona bracelets with Glidelock. This is really a shame on the Daytona models as this would help reduce the need for so many bracelet changes from new to fit the buyer, which as we all know can be problematic. Plus, GL does really make the watch more wearable when it come to adjusting for wrist size changes due to weather, etc. The EasyLink just isn't a good option, especially with this OF bracelet. Thankfully, Rolex is moving in this direction as noted first by the YM42 and now with all the YM's on OF. |

I’m guessing the GMT will be a huge hit for lefties …
As usual with Rolex, it’s impossible to judge till you see them in the metal. I bet the green black combo looks pretty darn nice |

My wife loves the DJ 31 with the blue flower motif dial. I was hoping for some new Skydweller options, but oh well. I like the lineup this year compared to last year. Good job Rolex! |

Very nice summation. Agree with you on DD and DJ. As a lefty who wears on right wrist, the VTNR looks like a must have.

Good break down…there are a lot of threads out there already regarding the new releases but this one seems the most civil and intelligent so I’ll post here
I think your assessment is spot on. I also might add the YachtMaster 42mm Yellow Gold to the list of winners. I’ve been eying that on the site for the last hour and it is really growing on me. I would prefer 40mm but honestly the difference is likely negligible. I cannot get on board with the YG DD 40 with flat green dial, at least based on photos. That’s simply personal preference as flat green does not excite me in any way. Although, this could be a watch you see in the metal and it turns out to be stunning. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
