Platinum DD40 is pure fire

...and ice. This thing is gorgeous. So glad Rolex found a way to do a platinum fluted bezel. I want one. Scared to find out the price though...

I agree. Seems we’ve heard for many years here that many they wouldn’t consider the platinum because of the smooth bezel …. Well now they’ve got the flutted

Agree that this makes the DD40 In plat so much more attractive. I thought they allegedly couldn't do the fluted on plat because it was too difficult of a metal to work with?

Smooth wins… but I would say that. I have had a fluted RG one though, still prefer the smooth. PS they have discontinued the smooth.

They made like 200 variations of it this year lol, definitely not milking it...but variations aside. It's a beautiful watch, I like baguette hour marker dial the best imo

Only a one year run on these!

Probably wise to hang onto it :))

Same in that I prefer the smooth. Set it apart and looked cleaner, IMHO

I agree, it looks absolutely stunning. It will probably be 70K-ish watch in euro.
Fluted bezel looks better IMHO.
This DD and the mint green DJ dials are the winners for me.

Thinking out loud here, love the fluted bezel on the DD Platinum now, but couldn't they have done this before as doesn't the crown have fluting as well?

Glad they made it though

Very good point hasn’t thought of that!

Me too, much prefer the smooth bezel. Been on the list for one for awhile, wouldn’t get the new one.

I always knew this was nonsense given the crown and caseback are fluted….

This move is more significant than most people realize for the platinum line.

Already reached out to my AD for the ice blue with romans. I think it’ll pair great with my RG olive DD40.

The smooth bezel had me hold off purchasing for the longest time. It reminded me too much of my smooth bezel DJ41. I also felt the previous platinum references lacked with only a smooth bezel offering. (no offense to owners).

I’m with you, I think this is going to split opinion. Having owned both (sadly not at the same time) I think the smooth is my preference. Makes it stand out from the white gold.

Can't wait to see videos of it. Platinum fluted bezel will really pop/shine.

Smooth bezel for me. Cleaner lines, less flashy, and distinct from WG/YG/RG

I much prefer the stealth appearance and understated look of the smooth bezel plat. The fluted is beautiful, but too much for my appearance and lifestyle.
