Carl Parker (Parker Time) for Rolex service?

Hi all I've taken a couple of recent purchases to Parker Time in Hunter's Hill, NSW, for assessment. Carl is very knowledgeable about timepieces, having been in the game for many decades. However, does that necessarily translate to an acceptable level of knowledge about watches (I assume clocks and watches have many similarities in terms of working on them??) and, particularly, specific watch brands, like Rolex? Or should I be going to one of the oft-mentioned big names, such as those in the CBD that are always on the recommended lists for RSC alternatives, to be sure about the advice and servicing I am getting?
