Vintage Saturday Wrist Check

Just acquired this Swiss made leather G-10. It dresses my Tudor DD up just enough and yet still retains the rugged, utilitarian aesthetic. Nice match with the rotating bezel, imho
Anyone else going vintage today?

Of course (except for one watch, all of mine are vintage!)...

This bubbleback is ref. 3134, ca. 1938.

And, by the way, I love your Tudor Date-Day and the new strap.

I've been wearing my black Tudor sub on a Hirsch carbon the last few weeks. I quite like it. It gets the call today.

I could lie, and post a pic of any vintage I own, but I'm afraid the tudor sub 79190 I'm actually wearing doesn't qualify, thus no pic

I doubt the 79090 I posted is actually vintage but since it has an acrylic crystal I'm going to pretend it counts.

I consider my 79190 as a transitional model. It has on old-style matte tritium dial without white gold surrounds, despite having a quick-set date and sapphire crystal.

Well, since you insist! You know I don't mind, but it's not really vintage (1995), so I was a bit unsure.

Great shots everbody, by the way!!!

That's just my problem, the sapphire crystal, it's always gonna look "new". Also I don't love that it's so flat. But I'm wearing it every day now, so I guess it can't be all bad. Yours is a different story, though. I love it!

This is the one I'm using today; my brother-in-law's Rolex after returning from Vietnam. Lovely old watch with elegant lines. Early 1970s.

Thanks. He was Japanese, so I can't help but think of it as "shibui" (beauty that doesn’t need announcement).

Here's another picture that shows the many age spots on the dial. What's the prevailing wisdom about having it refinished? I'm inclined to leave it alone, but ...

I would leave it as is! Is it a 1002 model?

Yes, my thought as well. In 1989 I bought my daughter a 1002 model . Her uncle's shown above was bought 15-20 yrs. earlier, and has a lower profile crystal with pointed hands and markers. Frankly, I was hoping someone could identify the model for me.

Yes, I will. An earlier response was blocked by the moderator for some reason. I included a link to a site showing a 1002 model identical to one I bought my daughter in 1989. Her uncle's is 15-20 yrs. older, but I don't know if it's also a 1002 model. Actually, I was hoping someone could tell me. The case is the same size, but the crystal is domed and the hands and hour markers are pointed rather than sticks.
