Rolex
If you could buy any new AD sourced Rolex with a leather band or no band at all and it was then reflected in the price, would you?
Could mean $2k - $5k off depending on the material and models and if the band supplier is holding up production, it could also mean a watch a lot faster. I'd be OK with it depending on the watch. |

Rolex
I wouldn’t mind a DayDate 36 on a leather strap. Other brands like Longines produce superb quality leather hybrid straps with folding clasps that have micro adjusts these days. No reason why the great big R couldn’t do the same.

I'd take an OP because they are already cheap and I'd wear it on rubber. Generally, Rolex bracelets are some of my favorites so I'd like to avoid the compromise.

Isn’t the supplier Rolex themselves?
If Rolex would be more open with bracelets like they are with Tudor, I bet that this could work quite well. However, Rolex probably enjoys forcing customers to buy a bracelet to enjoy additional profits. |

I would not. I see the bracelet is an important part of the whole Rolex experience but on vintage it can be fine without, though still preferable with.

I would actually prefer the Dj36 that way, modern silver dial fluted DJ on a taupe suede strap for the vintage look.

I’ve seen some Skydwellers on leather band that look great. Maybe the SS blue dial with a darker brown alligator strap?
But yeah only if it was a secondary option. Wouldn’t buy one without having also the metal |

I’d love to be able to get a BLNR or a VTNR without the bracelet and just buy one separately. Not a big rubber/leather strap guy in general but with how hard these are to get I’d rather be able to get the watch itself faster and guarantee I only pay once for the bracelet I want as opposed to buying one and having to buy the other bracelet if it wasn’t my preference. I would be down to rock an SD43 on a rubber strap as a vacation/beach watch so this would be a cool option to not pay extra for a bracelet I would take off.

Seriously though, I'd still want the bracelet regardless of any price difference. It's somewhat of a non-negotiable value for me. My Tudor purchases have been on bracelet for this very reason. Straps can always be added later. |

In this market - I'd take a BLNR on a OF. Hell, I'd take a BLNR with no strap and put the bracelet from my sub on it, and my Rubber B on the sub.
