Do you want/need a GMT function more than a diving bezel and Glidelock? Which are more useful to you?

the GMT function and easy hour set is really singing to me, BUT I love the glidelock and I know will miss it. Thinking the Pepsi is the next step up in terms of Steel Sports but then I am always looking for the next best thing

I'd do that in a heartbeat as I refer to GMT several times a day from different time zones.

The premium isn't worth it to me and I don't see a SS GMT II as a step up, it's a lateral.

Is it a green bezel sub ? I would trade a regular sub but I wouldn't kick in too much cash.

How much do you use Glidelock? I like the GMT a lot, but I do not think it is a watch I could easily wear every day in the summer due to the lack of Glidelock. So I would love to have one, but I personally would not trade in my Sub for it since my Sub is the perfect daily wear watch.

I own both and would choose GMT over the Submariner. As usual I stand with my good friend Stan on this choice!

Bracelet: Glidelock is overrated, I use the easy link a lot during the day but I never use the glidelock while wearing the sub because I have to look and count the steps of the adjustment to make sure I extend or tighten, it is a hassle. Polished center links are underrated, Ceramic bezel is shinier than the PCLs, so brushed bracelet of the sub doesn’t make it under the radar but PCLs make the GMT complete.

Bezel: I never use the bezels to time things or as a 3rd time zone. Bicolor design of the GMT is more eye catching and adds another visual element to the watch, but thinner font and less cluttered bezel of the Sub is more pleasing.

Dial: I like the visual element of the colored gmt hand, especially the green hand on the LN.

Functionality: Jumping hour hand of the GMT is the best functionality of a GMT watch. I don’t use the GMT hand at all, and don’t dive with Sub.

Overall GMT is a better package, so at msrp GMT all day all night long, but at secondary prices, I would think twice.

I have and love both. Pepsi is by far my preferred watch.
If you don’t have funds for both, I’d go for Pepsi

Trade in the Sub for a Pepsi and then look to add a 97200 bracelet down the line - best of both worlds...

I like the BLRO more than the Submariner for the aesthetics of the watch. I think the BLRO on the Jubilee Bracelet is stunning. I am a Rolex Diver fan and have owned them all over the years and still own a SD43 and a Hulk but the BLRO is special to me. I guess it is the colors. I think the Submariners are great but there are a lot of options for dive watches in the market that check the box as well or better. Just mt thoughts.

GMT is a nice watch, but you're going to pay a hefty premium on the reseller market for a bi-colour bezel.

I'm jonesing for a Pepsi or Batman, but I'd miss the timing bezel and glidelock of the sub, and I'd never use the GMT function. I guess we are all different!

Good choice. The new Sub41 is perfection and it’s glidelock/bracelet is the best in the business.

You will miss the Glidelock and date quickset. You will love having two (or three) time zones. Really depends on how you use your watch.

While it doesn't have a conventional quickset date crown position, the GMT II BLRO has an independently adjustable "Jump" 12 hour hand which can be used to quickly change the date by moving the hour hand over midnight as necessary. The jump hour hand is very useful when changing time zones as you can "jump" to the new time zone without having to hack and reset the time. The crown position used for quickset date change in other references (2) is used for the jump hour hand in the GMT and is linked to the date change.

Download the GMT manual from the Rolex website and refer to pages 6 and 18 to better understand this.
