One Panerai only

If you could only have one Panerai between Pam88 and Pam312, Which one and why?

Please this is my dilemma right now between this two models and please don't throw in another model because it is already hard enough for me to decide between this two.

Here is the problem:

I have been wanted a Panerai (one only) to add to my watch collection. I have few Rolex, 1 Tag, 1 Omega, 1 Hamilton and 1 Seiko. So as you can see I just want one of other brand. I bought a Pam44 in the past and I sold it here to get a 44mm. The one I fell in love with is the Pam312. Went to my AD and put a deposit to make sure that I get the first one they get. After a long wait, an opportunity to buy a Pam88 came into the picture. Make long story short, I bought the Pam88 just over a week ago. Now my AD just called to tell me that they have a confirmation that the Pam312 in on transit and have my name all over it.

WHAT DO I DO?

Should I sell the Pam88 to buy the Pam312?
Or should I just hang on to Pam88 and just forget about the Pam312 for now?

HELP!!!

It's really personal choice, do you like the 88, you've had it a week so should have a clue if it's the Panerai for you, if it's not and you really do love the 312 then i guess you'll go for it.

You can get a few opinions from here, but in reality it's down to you and you alone, you have the 88, you'll see and feel the 312 and you'll make the right decision based on your needs and wants

I really think I like the 312 better because of it's simplicity. I think I bought the 88 because...

1. I don't like to play the waiting game for 312. My AD doesn't don't when they are going to get it or even if they are going to get it.

2. The opportunuty was pressnted to me on the 88 that I made an impulse decision.

I say put the 312 on your wrist. If it screams at you, then you have your answer. It's the only way to know for sure.

I did and this is why I put a deposit in the first place.

It seems to me 312 is a one rung higher on the ladder than 88.
So wear 88 till you get 312, then sell the 88. Pretty simple.
If you are like me, you'd want to change the watch every couple of months

I have not owned one but I did check out an 88 at my AD over the winter, it is an awesome watch, one of my favorites. But once I strapped on the 312 I knew it was the one. The day I picked up my 312 the AD had the coveted 233 so I checked out both and the 233 is all they say it is but I still loved the 312 more. Plus it is half the price! LOL

Well, what I don't want to do is buy the 312 and sell the 88 later. I have a problem letting things go, so I don't really want to end up with both.

I am not a tooth dr. that I can afford to change watch every couple of months.

At this point I am leaning toward the Pam312 because of the new in house movement and the exhibition back.

Anyone wants to buy the 88? Common make my life easy.

This is exactly why I put a deposit on 312. After strapping it on my wrist, I knew that it's the one. I just couldn't wait not knowing it's going to come, so I decided to pull the trigger on the 88.

The 312 is much cleaner looking so I would go with that between the two.

The 312 has the true Panerai look. Simple. Clean. Unadorned. If you're like me, then choose the PAM that has the historic factor (manual wind, clean dial, 1950 case, etc). I say this especially if it's the only one you're going to own.

Go check out the 312, but if it were me, I'd hang on to the 88 for a while, or search for a used 233. The 312 was too much like a "bowl with flat lid" when I saw it in person. One can easily run into a grass is always greener syndrome with watches!

Emil.. i do not envy you with your Dilema.. just what everyone is saying.. whichever calls your name.. and from what i can see you are leaning more to the 312.. (personally i would prefer the 312 due to the inhouse movement and clean dial) but let me give you a second option...
if i was you i would keep the 88 and enjoy it for a while.. the 312 is not going anywhere, it will become more available in months to come....

This is my advice, Kabayan...You have several Rolex, sell one of 'em then buy 312. And keep your 88 for sure. Good luck!!!

I have always liked Panerai for its simplicity and clean dial. So I say.... Go for the 312! Go where your heart tells you to...

I am done with my Rolex collection so I am not going to sell any of them. It's also going to be awhile before I buy another Rolex.

Emil, those Panerai are nice, I am planning to buy one soon, I just dont know if I'll be able to wear it, as much as the Sub. I never take the Sub off the wrist.
Hope Panerai bands hold up well.

If you decide to get Pam88 "K" series (latest series), let me know.
