How do you communicate with your AD?

I am wondering.. How do you all communicate with your AD?

Do you call or text them occasionally? Or casually email them?

Or do you only talk to them in person when you visit them?

The same as any retail store with common sense.

Stop in and buy a piece of jewelry every 1-2 months. Text before coming in.

Email, text or a call once in a while. He has always come through over my 20 year relationship with him.

I've purchased four watches from my AD, three of which were wait listed Rolex. I changed Sales Associates in the middle of my purchasing history and made sure the SA I work with now is not going anywhere (one of the owners' sons!). I stop is occasioanally but most of my communication has been via email and he usually responds promptly. So far so good.

We buy things, we take stuff in for servicing and repair if needed, we might walk in if they have something we like in the window, we take stuff in occasionally for appraisal and we may contact them to ask them something. All pretty normal stuff. Same as with a number of retailers we use. There is nothing special, nor any special behaviour required, to stay in touch with a Rolex AD, although like any business, they tend to remember the people who go in to spend money.

Strangely, a couple of weeks ago I stopped in at the boutique to look at a watch. My normal guy wasn't there as it was his day off. I spoke to the lady who was covering. She promised that she'd relay the information. Two weeks later I'd not heard back so yesterday I texted him and he called back promptly. Heading into visit with him today. Seems the intermediary in the communications was totally reliable. There's a lesson there somewhere.

I don't think he is.
- Call, email, visit? (This thread)
- Talk to a sales rep? Or go to Manager? Better to approach store Owner?
- Visit yourself? Or use a proxy? (Beautiful wife/girlfriend, well connected friend, relative, Whale)
- How to dress? Shorts & flip flops ok? Button down? Shirt & Tie?
- What Rolex to wear?

I've visited probably 20 ADs over the last 5 years and have been offered zero men's models. Not even a Datejust. (I've bought 5 ladies models during the same period so I know it's not _me_ )

I call in anytime I’m close , maybe 3-4 times a year and wait for them to call me which they do a couple of times a year, usually to offer me a Tudor when I’m after a Rolex

My AD is close to my house and on the way to the gym so I typically stop by once a week or so. I also do a lot of buy/selling/trading with them and I like to stay on top of inventory. No issues for me and I do not believe any issues from them as they are making money from me. I advise showing your face in the AD.

Personal text. They alert me when something they think I'm interested in. Opportunity to buy before it hits the floor.

Have picked up some interesting pieces over the years. Also information on repairs and parts/ accessories. Enjoy this very much.
