Likelihood of Getting a DJ41 from an AD

I’m in the market for a two-tone DJ41. To that end, what is the likelihood of getting one from an AD? I’ve put my name on multiple lists, figuring that the DJ41 was always one that was fairly readily available. The AD I bought my Sub from a few years ago said they’d keep me in mind, but no promises.

Understanding that the entire environment has completely changed, is there still a chance of getting it within the year or should I lower my expectations to a multi-year wait?

Either the Wimbledon or the Champagne with diamonds. Both in yellow gold on a jubilee.

I think you'll be good to go pretty soon. Those aren't super hard to come by at all. Especially TT

Oh sweet - giving me hope :) Every AD I walked into made it sound like it might be awhile.

Did they say how many they expect in those configurations for the year? My thoughts are that they have several others ahead of you for any “Rolex” that comes in during these crazy times especially since they were luke warm to your query. In any case best of luck.

Champagne dial should be faster. ADs nowadays won’t tell you the truth even if they know they can get the watch pretty soon. So it’s a standard reply when asked of the wait time. Just be patient and pretty sure you will get the call.

They didn’t say, just that overall allotments are lower and demand is up. Kinda same story as before.

I was looking at a two tone 126333 jubilee white stick dial ad told me with a full purchase they can order it no problem. Said 2 maybe 3 months. But that’s the only thing they can order. No ss dj or any other model. Just two tones.

Interesting I couldn’t place an order at any of the ADs. They only said I can put in the request and they’ll keep me in mind.

I suspect 3-4 months depending on the AD for a TT. Recent experience tells me 6 months max.

regardless of what you hear on TRF (whether 1 week or 1 year or ?), it will be you AD that dictates the actual delivery of the watch to you.

So i'd take whatever intelligence you get here with a grain of salt.

This was at 2 separate ADs one I have no buying history with. The sa there said 6months to order after paying for it. Then I went to my AD and asked. I do have a few purchases through them so maybe that’s why. No Rolex through them though.
It was a funny conversation with my SA I always deal with. He know I want the explorer 2 and when I asked about a DJ he actually pulled 3 from the Rolex portal. And told me there’s always a few DJ they have just in case. I did politely decline the ones he had. Not my taste yet with diamond hour markers. If he had a two tone with white dial I would have jumped on it.

Anecdotal, but here in Miami I walked into an AD with zero history and was offered a date just 41 which I purchased. Afterwards out of sheer curiosity randomly stepped into a few mayors dealers that all offered DJ’s for sale. I wouldn’t worry about trying to get these at all, just keep shopping until you hit a dealer that’ll sell.

I didn’t have too much trouble getting the configuration you specified (though with an oyster bracelet and not jubilee). If I recall correctly, I contacted my AD in early-mid September and it was in my hand by November. Not sure if it made a difference that I mentioned it was for my father’s retirement party, but I was surprised it was such a short wait given it was my first purchase from this AD.

I’ve winced purchased another DJ (rhodium) from this AD and the wait time was approximately another 1.5-2 months.

Recently picked up a TT DJ41 (RG/Wimbledon/Jubilee) that was a special order (deposit upfront) - took 8 months. Granted, this is a somewhat popular combination. Had prior purchase history with the AD.

Depends on the configuration. If you want a specific combo and only that combo it will be longer. I just got my DJ 41 from a new AD after a 6mos wait. I think 6-12mos is typical.

Difficult with a small purchase history. I expressed interest in a blue DJ36 back in March 2021. I'm still waiting.
