Best Way To Ship Rolex??

Am wondering if anyone has a recommendations for shipping Rolex with insurance within US?

I just tried using the USPS insured shipping program. Rates were great but it took almost 2 weeks for watch to arrive to new owner and it appeared the watch had been lost since it stopped tracking for about 7 days. USPS was almost non responsive during the process. Certainly not something I want to go through again with a sale but do want to have the insurance coverage.

Thoughts and recommendations would be most appreciated.

My AD and probably most resellers use Fedex or UPS but with third party insurance that is generally available only to commercial businesses. USPS registered as you used is considered safe and allows insuring for full value, but yes it is not known for being fast.
My rule of thumb is I won’t ship anything that I can’t afford to replace or bear the loss if it happens.

With that type of money, I’d go Fed Ex or UPS insured overnight. Use paper tape on the box as shows if it’s been tampered with.

Anything other than overnight shipping is foolish for high value items IMHO.
Also, read the fine print. It’s not insurance you’re buying. Try collecting on a damaged item. It’s a nightmare. Third party insurance is the way to go.

I always use USPS Registered Mail as recommended by Rolex Service Centers. It's handled separately from every other class of mail and takes a little longer (a week from California to New York), but it doesn't get lost.

Attached are the Rolex RSC mailing instructions.

Registered mail. Not quick, but it won't get stolen. Must be properly packaged and wrapped with paper tape. Some government agencies use it to ship low level classified because everyone who touches it is cleared and there is a 100% paper trail.

I’ve used FedEx for a Christie’s auction and was happy with both the cost and shipping time…
