I hope the value of Rolex watches goes to $0

I tell this to my SA every time he gets me a piece. The look on his face is priceless.

Imagine an AD begging you to take a piece after you bought severely discounted jewelry.

Never say never !

Why would you hope that?! It's like hoping the value of your house or car or whatever goes to zero. I think for long term sustainability, the ideal situation is if you can buy a Rolex for $X+tax, you can sell it for $X

It's best when it is worth what you paid for... not more, not less. No depreciation, no speculation... Just a timeless, quality watch you can enjoy.

I agree. If they just held their value without appreciation it would be a lot more enjoyable. But those days are gone.

I’ve never sold a watch so I’m not in this hobby for a profit. I see you have at minimum $40k of very nice watches in your signature, a shame you want that to be worth nothing.

$48,870 to be exact. Once my LV comes in It should be hovering at 60k.

Huh?, What?

Well, Just hypothetically, If it did another brand would just take it's place in this day in age. I am so glad to see after decades of collecting that there are so many excellent, long lasting, accurate watches to choose from.

Oh and if my home was worth nothing, I wouldn't mind that either. Just think of all the worthless watches I could buy just from not having to pay property tax!
