Steve McQueen's Rolex
Hello everybody!
did you hear about Steve McQueen's Rolex Submariner sold for 234,000$? Amazing.. Does anyone here know the exact name of that submariner? I really like that watch! I'll be happy if I get an identical one, not the one that was Steve's one :p is it maybe this one? http://www.globalwatchmarket.com/Rolex/282525.aspx thank you everybody! Bests, Sfra |

Welcome...
Steve McQueen wore an older non-date version of the Sub.. a model 5512, which is very hard to come by on a good day. An alternative would be the vintage 5513; almost identical except for a 2 line dial vs 4 lines on the 5512 (COSC) If you want a modern reference that is almost indistinguishable from a Steve McQueen Sub, then go for the model 14060M.........

If you're really after a 5512 then like Larry has already commented you need to do lots of searching to find one. As I've seen a couple come up in the last few months, but other than that I haven't seen that many in about 5 years

So for a normal person, the 14060M is your best bet.

thank you everybody! =) nice pictures Dan!
I think I'll consider the advice about the 14060M! but I need to think about it.. do you think 5400$ is a fine price or is it a bit too high? I saw it here, I think it's a reliable site... http://www.globalwatchmarket.com/Rolex/310237.aspx thanks! bests sfra |
