Who is our sickest member???

Who here has the most Rolexes? Tudors do not count, nor do sheep named Rolex (JJ), nor children named Rolex (god forbid!). So who is the biggest, baddest, TRF'er EVER! Who has the biggest collection??

10?
20?
30 Rolexes??

(Sorry if this has been asked before)

Is the relevant issue here number of watches or the amount of money spent? A member might have multiple SS watches, but two President or platinum models cost more.

Whatever you want

You could use them as paperweights.
  • You could hang them around the house or from teh ceiling like decorations or make a candelabra
  • Maybe tie them all together as a boat anchor (they're waterproof remember!)
  • leave one in every room and corner of the house so you could swap watches at anytime within arms reach
I'm sure you guys could come up with more ideas....

Have to agree and who is going to brag who's got the biggest collection of Rolex or any other watches. This is a public forum and such details should be kept private.Today with some quite simple checks you can find a lot of details from forums. I am sure we would not like to give details of say what you earn etc but the amount of Rolex watches equate to a lot of cash. And when TRF was started just over 4 years ago it was by group of guys who loved Rolex plus other watches. But most of all it was for the friendship. And to belong to TRF you don't even have to a watch of any description

Why should people keep collections private? I don't understand that at all. I love to see people's collections. I agree with you that you don't need a collection to be a member here. I only have one Rolex and that doesn't make me feel inferior in any way. I joined before I owned a Rolex but come on guys...lets see the collections.

I would say DavidSW. He's always selling his watches. He also never wear them or used them.
Did I mentioned that he sells them cheap as well.

This was just for fun, I have two at the moment, and 50 SWATCHs, plus a Jeager LeCoultre Reverso Grande Talle.

I never meant it to be about $$ or gold and Plat. vs. SS, I actually wondered if we had any members with more than 10 Rolexes. I would if I had the cash. And to see some pictures of giant collections.

This was strictly for fun! It never occured to me it would cause jealousy or hurt the feelings of members without a Rolex. I never even thought that.

Feel free to make fun of the SWATCHes, but I bet I am not the only one with a SWATCH here!

I would submit that most true collectors will tell you it's never about the number of watches in a given collection, but the quality, history, and provenance of those pieces in a collection.

I'm aware of several collections (some owned by members here) that while small represent what some consider the best Rolex ever offered. That these same collections are worth multiples of ten's of thousands of dollars is not the motivating factor in the assembly of these collections, but the passion these watches represent.

It has always been to the benefit of all that many of these people share not only there watches, but the knowledge they gain in putting these collections together.

Any number of well heeled individuals can assemble a gathering of expensive watches, the collector is known to take it to the "next level".

And yes.....there are those that have amazing collections that do not post their watches.

One of the downsides of the internet era has to some extent been the creation of instant "experts" that seem to take a certain amount of glee in tearing apart a given reference as "wrong", "not original", "flawed", or "fake" when in reality they simply don't know what there talking about.

Mike Wood not only has perhaps the best collection of sport Rolex I've ever seen, but those that know Mike will know that he has ALWAYS been a never ending source of information and passion about all things vintage Rolex.....and his Patek's and Panerai's are bad either.

Absolutely!! but at my meetings there would be many adult beverages consumed, along with fine cigars, food, etc., and your spouse would be welcomed, because, let's be honest, with any treatment program, the spouse should be involved!

These meetings, with the treatment you suggest, would be to encourage the acquisition and collection of fine time keeping devices marked with the Rolex monicker, that is your intention?
