How many Rolexes are enough?

I’ve been up to four. Lots of rotation and occasional service costs. Down to one with a 5 year warranty.

I have had more than enough for a long time..but when available will add more..

There's no answer to the question of course.

It also depends on when you got into this hobby. In my case and many others here, we were buying our watches often for 20% off and no tax or even better on some.

For most people I would imagine they buy one and that’s it.

If you’re a collector it’s one big rabbit hole

If you own more than 7 you need to seek help for your addiction! I only own 3 so I'm safe for now :)

I have 3 and am fairly content. I’m sitting on the sideline to let things cool and settle down. I have been looking at other brands tough.

That’s exactly it. I wore the CHNR yesterday, after a long time in the safe. I couldn’t believe how nice it looks. I just don’t have a lot of places and occasions to wear it, but I enjoyed it immensely. I’d even thought about selling it, but that’s off now. So, I guess I am a collector!

YMMV

Honestly I say 10-15. After that the rotation is out of control.

I’ve owned 5 at once, now just 2 and it’s a plenty for me when rotated with my non-Rolex stuff

I have six Rolex watches and I'm not Jonesing for another at this time. Certainly, the market will have to return to something resembling sanity, before I'm in the market. I think my little collection covers a lot of bases.

I have had 12 Rolex since 1984. Currently have three, the most I’ve ever had at one time and not seeking any more at this time. To each their own but I have never felt like I needed one of everything, it would be a waste of my resources.

My wife asked me the same question when I came home this week with my SD43. 6th Rolex, not counting my 2 tudors and 1 Omega...

I have 3 in my collection of 9 - I’m diversifying away from Rolex. Will add when there is a piece I am seriously considering. For now, I’m looking to add another jlc, and maybe an omega.

How many Rolexes are enough?

Always one more….

But for me, modern sub, GMT and Daytona.
Vintage sub, GMT and Daytona.
Datejust.
Maybe an extra sub or GMT.
That’s ideal.

Always nice to have an Omega, an AP and a Patek.

But it’s hard to justify them. So I don’t bother and just enjoy them. They hold value pretty well over time; over the long haul. I don’t plan to “make money with them.” They are a hobby.

I trade a lot and it seems to hover around 8-10.

After that the rotation is hard to manage. I’m not rotating them now… but I enjoy collecting them.

I've always wanted the "trifecta" of GMT's. A CHNR, BLNR, and BLRO..

I have the easiest to get (BLNR), so it might be awhile for me since I only will purchase retail. I really enjoy having diversity amongst brands, so I can't see ever buying a fourth Rolex. Of course, I'll probably never get to three.
