Next one for the collection..?
Hi all,
Am looking to pull the trigger for the next watch in the collection and am stuck.. I currently have a white dial DaytonaC and a SD4k and the time is right for the next one - I am aware of the prices right now and might be tempted to wait a few months (it’s not like anyone NEEDS another luxury watch!). That said, am not worried too much about value and not bothered if the price drops a few £,000 but don’t want to get buyers remorse in a few months or so if I could have bought a little cheaper - a few £,000 is STILL a few £,000! In any case, am hedging slightly as will very likely get the other one by Xmas as long as the world hasn’t imploded by then. I was going to buy both now as have the cash ready but think now is not the best time to drop £40k on 2 watches at once.. (Long) Backstory finished, now for the (short) question… Submariner Hulk 116610LV OR Gmt-Master Pepsi 126710BLRO - this was a long thought process as was very close to get the Batman instead. Pricing is pretty similar - they are both available at around c£20k - the Hulk a 2017 or so year and the Pepsi a 21/22. Again price not that relevant but am aware the Hulk was closer to £24k a few months ago. The Pepsi is also lower but has dropped less so potentially less hyped if the two and would likely take less of a bath on it over the next few months. Should mention have had the other 2 for a few years so am in the black with regards to “profit” - though I don’t look at these as investments and wear them daily (but it is hard not to!) I know pics are appreciated here so a pic of the current one I am wearing on holiday: Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I wouldn't wear a green watch, so that's an easy one for me.

I’d go Hulk personally of the two. It’s already discontinued so the “secondary market” is the real world market value since you can’t just grab one at your AD anymore. I love the Rolex GMT’s but paying double MSRP (for me) isn’t something I can justify to myself. That said, life is short and if that’s the one that’ll make you the happiest then go for it! It would complete your Rolex Land/Sea/Air combo. Let us know what you decide!

Based on what you've got, I'd go for the Pepsi.
What's not on the list that would be great would be a Bluesy |

Get the BLRO. Air/land/sea and you’re done.

Logically the BLRO makes more sense. Only problem is that the Hulk is discontinued. It all depends on how much you love/want the hulk because they are not making any more of them, and overall whatever is available is aging.
That being said the Hulk is not for me.... I was offered it many times and I passed. I do own a BLNR and a Pepsi. |

I prefer the older GMTs which I have and the LV sub was my first modern Rolex in 2013.
Very special to me, lovely watch. Gmt is a perfect do all watch. If I liked the modern 6 digit more it’s fantastic on oyster bracelet. I’d go for the BLRO, but I’d love it in wg meteorite dial. |

I dug my Sub black date out of the safe last Saturday for a family lunch at a Kent gastro pub and nobody noticed it!
I was gutted! I actually had to draw their attention to it, but I was scuppered as someone had a JLC Duometre! |

I would go for the GMT with jubilee bracelet.
I love both. But i think Pepsi offers more variety to your collection than a Hulk. Personally I’m not concerned with the production status, discontinued or not, there’s a ton of Hulks out there. |

BLRO over “Hulk” but 41LV would be much more difficult decision.

I would flip the SD4K toward the two watches you want. That trio would be SS Professional perfection.

I wouldn’t do either from a grey, I would go via the AD instead.

Of those two, I’d go GMT.
Unsolicited advice? Get an Explorer 39 214270. I have both the 116500 and SD4K and the Explorer gets the most wrist time. |

Love them equally but I would always go for the one that's not in production first. Better odds of getting the other (pepsi) later.
There is now wrong choice though.
