Good time to buy 15300
I am thinking of picking up a 15300. I know it is hard to predict this sort of thing, but do you all expect prices to drop much more? Obviously, this is not a watch I can just wait to get new. I found a good one, but I am not in any real rush, especially if prices on that model are likely to go lower. So really, I just wanted to gather more insight or opinions before I pull the trigger. Thank you for taking the time to read, and also to anyone who responds.

I think the price can be a bit lower but if you plan to keep it for long long time and you can find mint condition with box and paper full set, go for it.

In my opinion the 15300 is the best incarnation of the original Jumbo. The only problem may be the typical ailments of the 3120 mechanism. As for the price, it seems that are going down slightly lately, also not so much. So, if you can find one in good condition and at a reasonable price (around 40.000 EUR or so -blue dial more expensive, of course-) go ahead.

The 15300 is also my favorite from the line-up. If you find the one you like now, and a few thousand more is or less is not that critical, I would buy now. But I would expect the market will go down even further (4 years ago it was below 20K).

I’m in a similar situation.
Found a 2008-2009 range 15300 good condition (faint scratch on bracelet) full box and papers for $33K USD. Given the current market uncertainty, wanted to get more opinions on this deal and whether it’s a good buy. Thanks guys! |

Yeah in the current market that is a great deal. About 5k lower than the lowest I’ve seen.

I don't think its a bad idea to pick those up currently, they're the best value if 39mm is what you want in todays market.

no one can answer that but these are not only discontinued but in a size no longer available in non chronos (besides the jumbo) so the downside isn't gonna be as big as current production models

Remember that 15300 in a good condition was sub 15k in 2019 pre-covid.
I'd personally not spurge on an expensive purchase right now especially since we are only starting to see some dealers struggle to make ends meet. It might not go down significantly but we're definitely facing a downward spiral. |

It’s always a great time to buy a 15300. My favourite Royal Oak.

15300ST is my favorite Royal Oak. Perfect size and I think a better watch than the 15202ST because of the quickset date, locking crown and seconds hand. Always a good time to buy at a price you’re comfortable with.

Love the 15300. Almost bought a 2011 white dial for $40K a few days ago, but I balked.
While that's down from the highs, it kills me to know that these were available for $15K-20K just a couple years ago. I think I'd feel better buying in the low to mid $30's. |
