Question on Tudor Watches
Got a question for members. Is the Tudor brand good quality now days? I really have not keep up lately. My S-I-L is asking me because I own Rolex watches. I naturally came to forum that can answer that question. He is looking at the Tudor Black Bay Chrono with a white dial. Additionally, any info about that particular model would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you M |

I haven’t even been able to see that watch in person. It’s hard to come by. But I’ve heard it’s fantastic.
https://www.watchfinder.com/articles...-vs-tudor-blac As for Tudor in general. I have two. They are well built, feel solid on the wrist. They are both COSC certified and keep time as well as my Rolexes. And I really like their designs. In a lot of ways evocative of older Rolex. I think they are a great option if you want a “nice” watch and don’t want to pay Rolex prices or go on waitlists. Although that Chrono does have a waitlist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I can't speak for the BB Chrono specifically but I own a BB. I love it just as much as my Rolex. Great movement, and build quality.

Their MT calibres are stated to be 25% greater accuracy than COSC by Tudor. Puts them at +4/-2. Same as a METAS Seamaster 300 Divers.

Doesn't the Tudor chrono have a Breitling movement?

I have four (Heritage chrono, P01, Pelagos & Ceramic). They span over eight year and the eldest (THC) can still hold it's own against the newest.
I don't think there's any better out there at the price point ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Tudor makes some very nice watches. Now, they are a bit thicker than Rolex and it’s noticeable but it would be a great first watch for him. You might like it too unless you have a Daytona.

Of course they are good quality, the brand will last you a very long time. Inexpensive and good looking too, and not the end of the world if you scratch it. Good watches

Tudor produces excellent quality and robust time pieces. As others have pointed out, the MT in-house movements are just as accurate as any Rolex movement. These movements are produced by a company named kenissi, which was brought together by Tudor with this very purpose. Kenissi now also supplies movements to several other Swiss watch manufacturers. The MT5813 is not a Breitling movement but rather produced in collaboration with Breitling.
I haven't had the chance to see the white dial chrono in person but I have tried on the black one on bracelet. It is every bit as solid as any other Tudor BB reference. It is not a small watch and the pushers could optically render it bigger to the eye but it is not any thicker or wider than the standard BB 41mm case. Tudor makes a great watch and an excellent value for money in my opinion.

Question on Tudor Watches
As others have mentioned; well made, accurate, 5yr warranty, good looking (at least in my eyes), however definitely “chunkier” than most Rolex.

Thank you for the replies. I owned a Panda Big Block many years ago. I liked the looks. It was a THICK watch. Back then the links were hollow and if I remember it did not have solid end links. I also liked the looks of the Prince Date but was not sure I liked the red "Tiger" on dial.
I will pass the info along. M |

It looks like a Rubber-B. I have one on my 1680.
M BTW - Thanks a lot Greenwood. Now I am going to get into another line for a Black Bay Chrono with White Dial and a strap.... ![]() |

I really rate Tudor watches and although they are clearly not Rolex they are probably the best quality/value for money/heritage you can buy for the money. Here are some of mine:
The older Prince was from a previous generation of Tudor but absolutely special. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Tudor makes great watches at a good price.
The only flaw: the thickness. |

Generally yes it seems so - certainly the case on the Pro, Chrono, Advisor but not on the 58, Prince, 1926, FXD

Tudor makes great watches and I enjoy them very much. If Tudor had been on the scene 30 years ago when I got involved with Rolex at the same level they are now I might not have been as big a Rolex fan.

The Tudor brand brings everything I prefer to the table. The vintage design queues, modern construction, contemporary proportions, & enhanced specifications [WR rating, power reserve] all contribute to create some amazing references.
My Tudor collection started with all vintage. There was a time if you wanted a blue Sub or DD [including jumbo size] in stainless steel, or a chrono w/ a date, Tudor provided those when Rolex didn't, and in some cases still doesn't. However, by 2010, with the release of the Tudor Heritage Chrono, the brand started to reemerge [especially after the return of sales in the US] with new life & vigor. Since then my Tudor collection has moved decidedly modern. The best part for me is I prefer each of these over their Rolex alternative. No settling. Just lots of satisfaction. ![]() dP

Tudor is definitely good quality these days; not just good value for the price, but just straight up good quality. As far as I can tell, Tudor has always been good quality…enjoy the brand quite a bit
