Trying to identify a Rolex left to me to me by my grandfather

Hi there. Looking for help. I inherited a watch collection from my grandfather which contained a vintage Rolex. It is still in original box with recipe from seller dated 29th September 1972. It’s a precision with maybe not the original straps. I don’t know how to tell if it’s still original. He worked in the merchant navy after ww2 and used everything he bought. It looks in good condition as does the box and leaflet from the Rolex agent. It has serial number and model number. Not looking to sell just gather info on what I have. Thanks for reading and any help given.

Hi Stuart.

Is this the same watch that you posted the same about back in 2013?

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...95#post4372095

I imagine that the answers will be about the same.

This is definitely not the first time I have seen Tools call someone out for this. I can’t even fathom how he remembers.

9 years later, and same question, same watch (probably). Who would bother doing this twice, 9 years apart?

Does not compute.

At least he wasn't complaining about a trip to an AD, lack of inventory or expressing his uncanny ability to forecast economic disaster.

Nice watch OP.

On more than one occasion, I’ve thought of a topic about Rolex, searched it, and then found a post I made about the topic 7-10 years ago.

Judging by the extensive details and images provided we can only conclude that its a Paul Newman Daytona and worth about $1M USD.
