Question: new DJII 41mm or SUB date 2010

I am planning on purchasing my 1st rolex. I've always favored larger dial size. I am ideally lookin for a watch that I can dress up and down.

Should I wait and get SS DJ II 41mm or new SS Sub date 2010 (I am hoping they will have polished oyster bracelet)

Your opinon is greatly appreciated.

DJII would be my choice, for the purpose you stated.

Sub for me, no question. A DJ doesn't really look right on me. Wear the watch that suits you best.

Tough call. I think the new DD II and DJ II are pretty limited in how they can be configured (at least by Rolex standards). I'm personally holding off on a DJ II until Rolex releases more bracelet/dial/bezel combos.

If you really love one of the ones that are available though, it's a great choice. Either would be fantastic.

The Datejust is better for dressing up. The sub may be better with casual attire. If you plan to own only one Rolex, the DJII is the prudent choice.

Best,

I think with the right dial the DJ can be the most versatile watch rolex offers. Although I think pretty much every watch they make looks great dressed up and down, I am personally holding out for a DJ II myself.

Can't go wrong either way!

The dial sizes are the same on both at about 30mm...

The extra 1mm of difference in the case size (40 vs. 41) is likely to be unnoticeable.......but the Sub has a larger diameter bezel, so it will actually be the larger watch, appearance-wise..

In any event, the latest ceramic SS sub that you call "2010" will not likely be in any Dealer before 2011 (and I'll bet a donut it will not have a polished bracelet), so if you're in a hurry, the DJ II is the choice for you..

Submariner for me.

I've already tried the new WG out, and I like it. Much more than the GMT-IIc for some strange reason, and much more than the new 41 mm style watches (compared it to the new DD).

The 41mm DJ is not for me (at least not for the moment).

I am looking forward to the 116610.

Best,

A

If the numbers mean anything !
For some reason the new larger president sells better than the new ceramic Sub

When they release the desired combo...I'll be first in line at our local AD

Wot Larry said.

These is no chance IMO that the new SS sub will have polished links.

I'd consider the DJ the most flexible.

The DJII actually exists and will be out before the end of this year.

The Sub 2010 is a figment (and hope) of everyone's imagination and still does NOT even exist!!

Get the DJII!!

thanks for all the good advise. I can't wait to see the new DJ II. I tried the DDII and it just seemed disproportinate.

That being said, the sub date is such an iconic watch and I would love a SS with ceramic bezel. I thought the GMT II was too bulky and the sub feels like the perfect size.
