There is nothing that a serial number can tell you except, perhaps, a range of years that it may have been made.

There are a few known recurring replica known serials, but no guaranty there either.

We generally recommend that buyers purchase from a reputable seller or known dealer who will back-up your purchase.

I'm not certain but I'm guessing if you call RSC or visit them, they should be able to tell if you if it's a real serial number. They likely won't tell you anything else in terms of authenticity but *should* be able to verify it (unless you formally submit it for servicing and pay the cost).

If they can't/won't then literally no one would be able to verify a serial number.

RSC will NOT disclose anything over the phone. You can visit and get a service quote. Preferably in agreent with the seller before you pay for the watch.
RSC WILL hold on to a watch that has been reported stolen.

Good to know. Can RSC give you a quote while you wait or do they have to take the watch for a few days before giving the quote? I'm asking the context of just walking into an RSC, not mailing it in.

Walk in, hand over the watch and you get a quote in like 30 minutes.

Unfortunately, RSC in Dubai does not provide the service of verifying/authenticating any watch. I am buying it here from a shop that sells luxury watches and jewelry. The other option is to buy it from online dealers, which I have been advised not to do.
