Impatient waiting for 136660

And I’m not even talking about waiting list to buy myself.

Where are the incomings?

Where are the display models?

Where are they grey market pieces?

Seems behind other 2022 pieces

Just get the 126660 (if you can), the 136660 loses the diver's extension, a basic true diver's watch feature. Many say the 126660 will be the ultimate James Cameron collectible iteration.

They also made the bezel thiner, causing the crystal to stick out more, 126660 looks "cleaner" in this regard, bezel and crystal blend better together IMHO.

Only good change is bigger date, but for me it does not compensate the other 2 bad changes.

Some will say the 116660 is the pinnacle.
Everything afterward is on a down hill slide

I also thought about getting a 116660, but I had to go grey, and it also wore even bigger. The changes made from 116660 to 126660 all good.

I've had the 126660 and sold it stupidly. Wanted another but figured I wait it out for the newer one. Main difference for me being AR coating. They put it on this one, right? I imagine it will cause the dial to pop even more. I was also hoping somehow some magic has occurred making it wear better on wrist. Not holding my breath for that one. But really wanting to try it. Btw, I also had the 16600, SD43 and SD4K. All great but out of all I liked the Deepsea the best.

What about the AR coating on the crystal?
That surely has to be a game changer in day to day convenience
Some people remove the diver's extention to facilitate a better fit and comfort on the wrist, so it could be regarded as a mostly redundant feature.

Besides, when you've got that movement in it. All bets are off anyway so what's the practical difference between a 12 and a 13?

From what I know, there is no difference regarding AR coating at all.

On the wrist they will wear exactly the same (regarding size, only the bezel got thinner on the 136660 model).

Yep the 11 does indeed wear bigger with the endlinks.
It's good you are drawing a line where you need it

My buddy got one yesterday when he walked into a AD in NY. He literally asked what was available.

I've seen the video on YouTube and I can say that I saw moments in the presentation where the AR coating looked like the big game changer just like the bracelet was for the 12.
Mark my words

As you know from previous experience the off axis readability is a bit funky on the 11 and 12.
It's vastly improved on the 13
I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised by the 13

Also the flat area of the Caseback looks like it's larger from what I've seen of it on youtube.
Whether it suits your wrist shape is yet to be determined.

Personally I look forward to seeing one in the flesh
Out of curiosity of course

I agree with most of what he says. For me the diver's extension with secret Rolex Crown is a big loss. It is really the ultimate Oyster Bracelet. For fitting I just took 2 endlings out and kept the extension, perfect fit.

I also don't like how the chamfered sapphire crystal and thinner bezel worked out. The watch is too fat for it.

Anyways, both are pretty much the same, 11-12-13 all beasts in my book.

100% this. I'm very happy to have one and have zero interest in getting the 136660.

I just got the 126660 in black and love it but still curious about the 136660, particularly whether the AR coating will make the JC version dial pop even more

Exactly what I intend to do on my 50th birthday. Walk in and ask what Rolex they'd be willing to sell me and take it from there, with a meager purchase history. Might settle with a nice Tudor, mind you .

Perhaps just source later the 136660 AR crystal (assuming fits the 126660) and you have the best of both worlds!

Is it just the endlinks that make the 11 wear larger or is it actually bigger than the 12 lug-to-lug?

I think it's limited to the endlinks contributing to the lug to lug dimention, but the Mid-case is the same length for all of them.

I don't currently own a DSSD but I love how all the 126660 owners feel they're version is better. The diver extension... sitting in the boxes of 99.99 percent of owners. One of the most successful brands in the world comes out with a third version and it's supposed to be inferior to the other two versions. Keeping telling yourselves that 1st and second gen owners.
