Is this really possible? How can a Sub be this cheap?
I've been noticing that the two-tone bluesy Subs have been dropping to really reasonable prices in the pre-loved market, providing a nice opportunity to get a two-tone watch at a good price.
I don't really understand this, though - on ebay there's a bluesy for $2300 (item 360138742162). That HAS to be fake, right? If it's not (seller does have 100% positive feedback) why is it so cheap? I did notice, for example, that the case has holes but it also has the bracelet with the gold bar over the buckle - I thought that bracelet only came on no-holes-case Subs? Any experts who can help me out here in terms of what to look for when looking pre-owned would be greatly appreciated. |

The Y series was the last series to have drilled through lug holes. Being a 2003 model, it may be due for a service so expect to spend at least $500 for that. And the fact that it doesn't have any boxes or papers also lowers its asking price. If you do buy it, I would only pay with a credit card and immediately have it checked out to make sure everything is 100% authentic.

I'm not going to buy it (actually someone else already bought it) but am just looking for information in general so I can have knowlege in the future. Is there any Rolex resource online that correlates serial numbers to when the style of bracelet changed, when case changes took place, etc? It's easy to find lists that correlate serial numbers with manufacture years, but I haven't yet found a "roll up" of the information per model. |

I believe the price of the Bluesy is closer to $5,000 so if you can get one for $2,300, then that would be an fantastic deal even if it doesn't have box and papers! To me something doesn't seem right.

Insane. I think it was a mistake by an employee or something. All of his blue subs are listed pretty high.
Interesting to see if he will honor the price. |

Yeah, the pricing for the other pieces is more in line with what I expect to see for pre-owned. Perhaps you are right, and this was just some sort of error? Because if the watch is legit, it's an outrageous deal.
